Word up! Come and dive into the wonder of languages on Sunday 3 May at Sunday Assembly Folkestone.

It’s bank holiday, and we’re lucky to have a fantastic guest speaker visiting our seaside town. Niki Cooper-Robbins is an art therapist with a passion for bringing people together, whatever languages we speak. Ever felt unsure about saying ‘bonjour’? Niki will share some surprising, creative ways to loosen your tongue - after some live band singalongs to warm us all up, of course.

Plus Sophia Stutchbury from Music In May to help you find your jam this season!

Everyone welcome, it’s free and there’s no need to book - just turn up.

Join us on Sunday, 3rd May at 11am at St Eanswythe’s Primary School, Folkestone. Doors open 10.45am.

Psychotherapist Sasha Maye is coming to share some ideas about how to look after the Grinch in your life, in your community or in yourself at Christmas. She’ll remind us to look out for people with alternative experiences of this season.

Sasha is running for the first time this year in Folkestone, a series of group therapy sessions in the run-up to Christmas at the Folkestone bookshop, offering people that feel a bit Grinchy or ambivalence towards Christmas a place to be and to share in these.

We had such an interesting and connecting assembly this month! We loved hearing from and talk so authentically and passionately about their local projects; in between the usual sing-along-songs from our wonderful band (all volunteers!).

We can’t wait to do it again next month on SUNDAY 2ND NOV. We are hoping to welcome some folk from The Folkestone Book Festival! Watch this space 📚👀

We’re back! Come join us on Sunday 5 Oct at 11am at St Eanswythe’s Primary School. Free, no need to book - just turn up! Doors open 10.45am.

This months theme is connection and the power of local community for having difficult conversations, bridging divisions, and building unity to ignite change that helps us all to
LIVE BETTER, WONDER MORE and HELP OFTEN.

We’ll hear from Folkestone film director who’ll be talking to us about her new documentary
launching
on Wed 22 Oct!

Filmed on Folkestone’s white cliffs, it explores English identity at a time of crossings, coronations, and political upheaval - through the lives of Jessi’s neighbours who embody hope for a more inclusive future.

We’ll also hear from local project - a safe cosy space running on Tuesday evenings at exploring and practicing how we can how authentically show up in our relationships with ourselves and others.
