A year ago, this part of The Farmhouse at Fincham was still taking shape.

Scaffolding up, timber going on, plenty still to finish and a lot of imagining what the space might eventually become.

Fast forward twelve months and Mulberry Barn has already played host to weddings, celebrations, private events and some really special days.

Itโ€™s been lovely watching the barn go from building site to somewhere filled with flowers, music, laughter, long tables, first dances and all the little moments that make each occasion feel different.

And weโ€™re only just getting started.

Back at The Forge, the music has faded, the shoes are off and for the first time all day, everything is quiet.

The jacket gets dropped on the bed. The dress is finally set aside. A few cards are opened, a few moments replayed, and suddenly the emotion of the whole day seems to catch up with you.

The people who were there. The words that were said. The moments you didnโ€™t expect to mean quite so much.

Youโ€™re exhausted, still buzzing and probably nowhere near ready to sleep. So you sit together for a while, talking through the day and trying to take in the fact that the wedding you imagined for so long has just become part of your story.

And somewhere in amongst it all comes that lovely, slightly overwhelming thoughtโ€ฆ
