Feltonbury

Feltonbury 'Feltonbury'? Music and Art 'Festival-in-a-day’ - unlike its namesake – Glastonbury - no mud, no queues, no tailbacks! But we do have plenty of talent.

Lydia Bennett – 7.30pm, Friday 14th August at Gallery 45 Long Room, Main Street, Felton.

At short notice one of Feltonbury's favourite performers, is adding a special stop en route from Spain to her mini-tour of the UK.

Lydia is an emerging folk-pop singer-songwriter who, together with two colleagues, Emiliano and Iago, blends acoustic, folk, indie styles and Latin American music.

PA support will be provided by Andy Craig, another Feltonbury stalwart, excellent singer-songwriter in his right and ‘Northumberland Roots’ events coordinator.

This will be an intimate gig, with a limited number of wristband tickets (40) on sale at Gallery45 from Wednesday 5th August. Ticket access includes an introductory glass of wine to ‘set the mood’.

Don’t miss this unique opportunity to welcome Lydia ‘back to the fold’ – she’s looking forward to it, and so are we !!

The power' is on, the food is hot, beer flowing and music in full flow.

I've spent the last twelve months getting 'Feltonbury2026' ready for this weekend. I never cease to be astonished by the huge levels of skills in music, poetry and arts - and so delighted that they are all coming to share those skills with you

So, if I was planning my weekend in Felton and West Thirston, where would I go?

Friday 26th evening opens the event, and is exclusively at The Pant House Small Holding. A number of excellent bands as well as Foxes Den beer and food stall.

However, on Saturday 27th so many 'doors are thrown open' to welcome you in. What would I do? Well, I'd plan my day carefully, based on what you want to see/do. Here's few suggestions

Absorb the 'cool vibe' of wonderful and innovative music and arts in St Michaels church, where the artists' displays will be complemented by a range of innovative and skilled musical talent.

Interspersed across several of the the music venues are a series of excellent, contemporary, humorous and challenging poetry sessions - all having a 'bit of fun with the day'. Well worth sitting back and enjoying their skills!

Families? Go The Plot - Felton for a range of child-friendly activities and entertainers, including a "Kids' Ceilidh" (I'm realiably informed that they are better than their parents)

Enjoy the medieval bridge over the River Coquet, where you'll find the 'Arts On The Bridge' Exhibition' as well as a music venue - and it's just a short stride to No 16, Riverside where you can 'bask in the quiet garden' to enjoy that muisic venue as well as visitng the artist's studio. Alternatively you can go the other way across the bridge to The Northumberland Arms, where you can enjoy a 'nifty pint', listening to music at yet another venue

Choral - a 'mini-Eistedffod' at Felton Village Hall where you'll enjoy a number of choirs, poets and harps; all beginning with the annual favourite 'Sing Along A Sound Of Music' - 'Lederhosen' or 'Dirndl dresses' aren't compulsory.

Gallery 45 - a 'smorgasbord' of arts, music and refreshments throughout the numerous places in the building, including the quirky 'Shower Room' venue. Dive in - and enjoy!

Drop into the various artists' studios located around the villages, where you can view an amazing array of skills and abilities, and finally, as all of these fantastic arts and music venues close for the day, make your way back to The Pant House Smallholding where, behind the green stable doors, 'Scudstock' will bring the weekend's festival to a music-filled conclusion.

And, looking ahead, 'Feltonbury2027'? 'Pencil out' the weekend of Friday 25th - Sunday 27th June 2027 in your diaries. Trust mne - the planning has started already!!
