Faversham is commemorating the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe (VE) Day with a Faversham in the Forties event on Sunday 8th June 2025 10-4pm
The event will feature:
Music and Dancing: Enjoy live 1940s music and dance performances.
Reenactors and Military Vehicles: Experience historical reenactments and view displays of military vehicles from the era.
Vintage Stalls: Browse a variety of vintage stalls offering period items.
Food and Drink: Themed food and beverages reminiscent of the 1940s including Fish and Chips!!
Special Appearances: Look forward to appearances by historical figures, including a portrayal of Winston Churchill and Viv the Spiv! see if you can catch him in Market Place!!
The event will take place in Faversham's Market Place, Court Street, and West Street providing a historical backdrop for the festivities.

Today marks the 80th Anniversary of The D - Day Landings during World War II 1944.
To commemorate this time and the WWII Servicemen from Faversham, 12 Market Place will be exhibiting beautiful handmade war time bunting from the 7th June to Sunday 30th June open daily during Visitor Information Centre opening hours.
On Sunday 9th June Faversham presents "Faversham in the Forties" in Market Place and Court Street 10-4pm to celebrate the resilience of the people during World War II and the commemoration of 80 Years.
A small remembrance parade will take place at this event from 11.50am.

Join Utility Jude for some war time cookery workshops "Making do with less" including recipes without fat, eggs, sugar and meat.

Workshop times:
11am, 12pm, 1pm and 2pm to include talks afterwards on each demonstration and rationing during World War II.

Utility Jude will be in 12 Market Place, Visitor Information Centre.

Trying to find an ice cream van from the 1940s for our event has proven very difficult but we have been really lucky to find Tonibell Ice Cream who have the only mark1 Tonibell in the UK .
Famous back in the 60s for the Mini ball. Tonibell was the biggest mobile ice cream van operation in the 60s, 70s and today 🍦
