Thank You for being a part of Our Time at The Four Horseshoes
At the beginning we inherited regular clubs, they were Abbey Ukulele with Keith & Janet fun times, and of course they have now moved to Blackpool, also Peter with his Bridge Club sadly Peter is no longer with us, we also had the pleasure of having Gwen’s Knit n Natter club to encourage people to get out and enjoy themselves meeting others and generally having a good time
We were also the place that Clint chose to bring his shoot party to on Saturdays during the season where they enjoyed a meal and relaxed after a days shooting
Things then moved on a bit and our food offerings were starting to become popular, and we were no longer able to offer our venue to the clubs as that area became our Dining Room
Karaoke played a big part of the Four Horseshoes entertainment with fortnightly shows which were almost showcase nights, because nearly everyone who came could sing, brilliant nights with regular host Rayoke, others later on were Nathan and Steve Jackson, Lima, as well as our in-house nights in between, with You, Me and Him, as well as The Good, The Bad & The Ugly
That’s when our friendships with regular attendees began, great people with a like minded attitude to just have a good night, and good nights we had, our crowd as we called them, Debbie & Del, (we can’t forget Del’s mum Greta who used to call it The Happy Pub bless her), Vicki & Charlie, Cousin Jim & Brenda, Frank & Jan, Clint & Jackie, Russ & Trina, Matt & Sally, Sam & Malcolm, (Sam sadly no longer with us) the Golden Girls from over the park Maureen, Gill, Chris, Gwen, and Chris’s daughter Jane, Phil & Hazel, Dougie & Bernie, Peter & Julianne, along with their guests all came to enjoy great nights time after time, no drama’s, no diva’s just good times
Sadly we lost our Clint, along with Phil & Bernie missed everyday they almost became part of the building
Especially Clint because of his connection with the local shoot, if he needed to meet anyone the meeting would generally be at the pub, brilliant when you consider he did not drink, but loved a milky coffee and our cheese on toast, being the local builder nothing was too much you only had to mention that you had an idea in mind and the next thing you knew Clint was there with his tools, along with Sam his son and they would get on with it, that’s how the stage got built or at least extended, told Clint I was thinking about it, got back to the pub one afternoon and they were doing the job, (We all miss you mate)
Phil was our local radio DJ where he performed regular spots on Sheppey FM, drive time show etc, a gentle man that found love later in his life with his lovely partner Hazel, again sadly he was taken from us far too early
To everyone who played a part in our time at The Four Horseshoes, Damian, Ricky, Brian, Steve (Our resident painter & decorator) & Di, Danny, Kev & Char, Eddie & Kim, Peggy, Alice, Enid, New Zealand Dave, and many many more
To literally hundreds of customers who enjoyed our Famous Sunday Carvery, along with our Legendary Cauliflower Cheese, and Signature Gravy thank you all so much for making our time at The Four Horseshoes enjoyable and memorable journey
Our team, Abbi, Tamara, Sinead, Lou & Fraser, all our children and grandchildren who all played their part in that journey
We thank you all sincerely
Best regards
Steve, Kim, Lisa, Dolly, Gemma, David, Jordan & All the Family ❤️
