Field update!

We've been planting more perennials, banging in pots, adding netting, laying membrane and continuing to prepare beds and plant annuals.

The first flowers are also being cut. 🎉

Everything is coming along well, just got the keep going 🤣

Wow it's hot!

Ever tried setting up a flower farm on the hottest May day on record? Don't - would be my advice 🤣

Field update!

In the last week I finished planting the 1700 dahlia tubers which was a weight off my mind. I would've liked them in the ground earlier but there has been so much else on too.

We have started putting the timber posts in the ground at the bed corners and getting support netting on the beds that need it.

The shrub bed paths have been membraned and lots more plants have gone in the ground.

I'm just about keeping on top of seedlings care and as soon as one tray leaves the allotment I prick out or bump up more to fill their place.

We also had a couple of frosts last week but everything survived with the aid of fleece and bubble wrap.

Still so much to do!

Had a lovely day at the Barnsley Village Festival meeting lots of lovely locals and talking about the new farm at Buscot Park. It was also great to put faces to some of my regular customers who buy via Crampi Italian Food & Wine in Lechlade. Hopefully see you all again soon.

It's been epic but I'm done with dahlias!

Planting them that is 😉

It's taken 2 weeks but I have 1700 in the ground and I can't wait for them to grow.

Don't worry, I won't be sitting idle. I now need to get 450 posts into the corner of each bed 😵‍💫 and prepare the beds for planting the half hardy annuals like cosmos and a hundred and one other tasks......

I'll be at Barnsley Village Festival next weekend. Come and talk to me about the new farm, subscriptions, gifts, wedding...

Field update!

3 and a half weeks since the fence went up and so much has been done. I'm working every hour possible to get the 1700 dahlia in the ground whilst still looking after thousands of seedlings and plants I'm growing at my old site.

I'm also digging up and moving plants to the new farm and starting to plant out the half hardy annuals.

I'm still sowing perennials and half hardy annuals like zinnia and in the next few weeks I'll need to sow the biennials. It's all go go go!

The studio now has flooring courtesy of Mr FGF and a workstation for making bouquets. Doors and windows will hopefully arrive in a few weeks time 🤞🏼

I will be at the Barnsley Village Festival next weekend. Looking forward to the first event of the season 💐💐
