For Lisa & Nick.....

Initially Lisa requested pastel colours but after a visit to the farm she loved so many of the flowers we went for a brighter colour palette.

We kept the pastel shades but added pops of brighter pink, orange and purple.

I loved the result and so did she β˜ΊοΈπŸ’

Field update!

Well what can I say - it's all about the dahlias.

So many flowers, so much colour.

Field update!

The dahlias are really putting out some blooms now and are covered in buds so as long as I keep watering they will keep coming all the way through until the frost kills them off in October or November.

With no rain for weeks irrigation is now key - the dahlia and annuals need watering daily and the perennials need a good soak at least once a week. Luckily the temperatures are a little cooler than they were.

Where no watering is happening the ground is now cracking and opening up. I can get my hand down cracks in the paths up to my wrist now.

Can we all do a little rain dance please πŸ™πŸΌ

Introducing Geoff the Head Groundsman at Buscot Park.

Geoff has worked Buscot Park for decades and in the early days he worked in the 'pick your own' fruit, veg & flower field. This is the field where my farm is now.

He had a picture from over 20 years ago (see the 2nd picture) holding some sunflowers grown in the field.

Today we were able to recreate that moment as the sunflowers were ready. He's not changed much has he πŸ˜‰

I'd love to see other photos from the days of the 'pick your own' So if any locals have any please do share.

For Pips & Mark

This wedding request was for a mix of pastel colours in a wild garden style.

With matching bridesmaid bouquets and pale buttonholes I am glad to say the bride loved it 🀍

Field update!

We've been busy in the last couple of weeks. The last section of the field has been mulched and rotivated.

That has allowed me to plant up another 9 beds of half hardy annuals with still more to come.

The field is also filling with colour as the strawflowers, cosmos and rudbeckia get going. The perennials are settling in and the first delphiniums have been cut.

The dahlias are growing like crazy and the first couple of blooms have been cut - is this the week that they start popping blooms all over the place?

Field update!

It's now been 10 weeks since the fence went up at the new farm and we've come a long way from a bare acre of earth.

The dahlias are about to flower, the hardy annuals are all in bloom and the half hardy annuals are starting to make an appearance.

The perennial area is filling out and coming into flower with more plants going in the ground every week.

I've also started to work on the last 3 blocks of beds, mulching them so that I can rotivate them at the weekend.

It's all starting to come together.
