Well done Well Wild - A therapeutic approach to Forest school & Bushcraft in two years of business with such an amazing concept which continues to go from strength to strength 🌱

“Great oaks from little acorns grow.”

Long may it continue 👏🏻

Where time went...
Once what was a thought, became a vision through time it became a reality and Well Wild - A therapeutic approach to Forest school & Bushcraft was created and 2 yrs running I have what people describe as a little school in the forest with no walls, and the tree canopy for a ceiling.

2 yrs ago today I had my first YP from Princess Trust part of their employability programme, today I had YP from Bares High School part of their school curriculum for they are struggling in school...

Owning , running my own buissnes was never ever in my life line, way beyond my wildest dreams,
Once i qualified in Woodland Skills and delivering Bushcraft , Forest School with the kids from Seamab School, Care campus I watched the changes happening in these wee kids who have experienced extreme challenging lives of saver neglect and turuma, I knew I was onto somthing... Now it's part of their school curriculum as a therapeutic approach part of their education, and healing.

I myself benefit greatly from being outdoors I live my life being out doors .
Being Dyslexic, & ADHD brings so many challenges to running a business, I can really struggle at times with the highs and lows running a business. I have made so many mistakes, times a have to laugh or il greet 🤣
I left school having no education no qualifications, let down by the education system, & employees through my working career.
They just didn't get me... 😳

I can totally understand, and identify with they children YP and adults who enter my woods with their own story and the challenges they face daily...

It's my care duty to provide a safe environment to all who enter the woods where they can find some peace and serenity that being out in nature brings
Where they can learn so many transferable skills, through Bush Craft , Forest School experience some Nature Therapy. in hoping they all leave the woods a better version of themselves

I have worked with so many Organisations, Schools, Social Services, Charities and individual YP, Children some who keep coming back for they see the value in what I deliver.
For that I am so great full and thank you all for believing in me .
Thanks to all the positive reviews on my FB tells me I'm on the right page doing good things everyone benefitting from

Thanks to Rehannon , Rough Castle Experiences who I lease the land from.
Without the land it still might only be a pipe dream.

Check out my web page,

Onwards and upwards, I have a vision, I know I can't do this myself the woods always open, the kettle is on come visit my Forest School with no walls and the Tree Canopy for the ceiling... 🌲 🪓 🔪 🔥

Not all heroes wear capes 🦸 Sometimes, they are trained in Bushcraft and come with hacksaws and four legs 🐶

Big thank you to John and the boys at Well Wild - A therapeutic approach to Forest school & Bushcraft who are tackling some of the tree blockages on the path network, absolute legends🥇

We'll be out and about this week in remedying the damage with contractors. Please be mindful if you are using Rough Castle, there is a bit of work to be undertaken so expect disruption on the paths.

Thanks for your patience.

‼️ Post to all Woodland users ‼️

Rough Castle has sustained extensive damage from the storm. Many paths are blocked by fallen trees and branches. As you will imagine, it will take some time to remedy the damage.

Please be mindful if choosing to walk in the woodland. There may be unsafe trees and branches which have yet to fall and you do so at your own risk.

We will provide you with a further update you as soon as we can.

Love these trees in Roughcastle woodland. Looks like they are in the middle of a duel and freeze when you walk by them.

"En guard, right there is someone coming woody, freeze" 😂

THE FALKIRK HOARD

The largest hoard of Roman coins ever discovered in Scotland was found alongside a piece of cloth said by some to be the earliest example of tartan yet discovered. It is known as the Falkirk Tartan.

The Coins On 9 August 1933 workmen were levelling a small hill in the area of Bell’s Meadow, (NS 8922 7992) removing the sand, when one of them hit a Roman jar with his spade. It broke on lifting and a hard metallic cluster covered in green mould fell out along with the remains of a piece of cloth. Fragments from this metal lump were clearly silver coins and the find was claimed as Treasure Trove. After cleaning, some 1,925 silver coins were identified; others having been taken from the scene by workmen suggest that the original hoard was of around 2,000 coins, making it the largest Roman coin hoard ever found in Scotland.

The earliest coin had been struck in 83BC, while Rome was still a Republic, and the latest had been minted for Alexander Severus in 230AD. Many were worn and had clearly been in circulation for some time before being added to the stash.

About us

We are an innovative, creative and entrepreneurial group of people who try and do things the right way, not the way it always has been done.

Our aim is to make use of the underused and underappreacitated Rough Castle Community Woodland making it a beating heart of our local community, bringing people and families together to enjoy the outdoors in a new and contemporary way.

Rough Castle Experiences will bring new life to this old woodland with a series of exciting and engaging events.

Our first event “Legion” brought thousands of visitors to Rough Castle Community Woodland in the search for The Picts. The event is a Regional finalist in the Scottish Thistle Awards, Best Heritage Tourism Experience with the winner announced in November this year.
