This racing pigeon had lots its way. It trotted on foot into my shed at the flower plot, very tired and hungry. We named it Feathers McGraw and looked after it for a few days. We did contact the owner but he said it was no longer of use because the pigeon had failed its mission . Despite being lovely company for me at the flower plot my little terrier was showing a very unhealthy interest, so Feathers has now gone to live at Windy Ridge Bird Rescue. Thank goodness there are kind hearted people willing to look after such creatures.

A jug of assorted leftovers! Sometimes these turn out to be better than my deliberate arrangements. Here we have mostly herbs, with added seedum and seed heads. The clematis is 'Amazing Rome', bred purposely for floristry (good vase life and the buds will open in the vase).

Hello fellow flower enthusiasts, my cutting garden will be open for the National Garden Scheme from 11am until 4pm on Saturday 17th June. All the roses should be at their very best, and it is a privilege to be able to welcome the very talented Marianne from Frances & Rose, who will be putting together a summer table arrangement and signing copies of her fabulous new book.
Cut flowers and plants for sale.

Hello good people, just posting to let you know that my cutting garden will be open for the National Garden Scheme on Saturday 13th August, 11am until 4pm. Tickets £3 on the gate or in advance through the NGS website. Once again we will have the talented Marianne Slater from putting together lovely floral arrangements under the gazebo. This year we will also be joined by Gemma from The Little Wildflower Company. Gemma also grows her own flowers and will be selling her very special bouquets and posies on the day.

My own flowers will stay on the plants where you can admire them, and I will have plants for sale.

Enjoy the hot weather whatever you do this weekend.

A HUGE thankyou to everyone who came along to my Open Day for the NGS and also The Flower Farmers Big Weekend on Saturday - 126 of you! I am indebted to all my helpers, in particular to Marianne of , who enthralled everyone with her demonstration of how to make a floral foam free arrangement in a bowl, and to Karen Ingall of who drove for nearly two hours each way to help me on the day. It was delightful to see lots of friendly returning faces and to meet many new ones. THANKYOU ALL ! 🤩
