💔 Just a quick note to apologise for the lack of posts recently. 💔

Sadly, my mum passed away last Sunday while I was holding onto her, just like in this photo, surrounded by family and so much love. We are all heartbroken and doing our best to stay strong.

This photo was taken only three weeks ago. Her final decline was incredibly fast, and it’s hard to believe how much changed in such a short time.

Social media updates may be a little quieter for a while, but we are still open for bookings and running our sessions as normal. Having some normality is helping us through this difficult time.

A quick update from us at Arty Boat 💛

Unfortunately, we have had to travel back to Birmingham as Tina’s mum is now receiving end-of-life care.

As a result, our Thursday sessions and Saturday morning session will be unable to run. We have successfully arranged cover for Saturday afternoon, Sunday and Monday sessions, which will continue as planned.

We have sent text messages to all affected customers to offer alternative dates, but many people have not yet replied. If you are booked with us on Thursday or Saturday morning, please check your phone and get back to us as soon as possible so we can rearrange your booking.

We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your understanding during this difficult time.

Thank you for your patience and support.

For all other enquiries our replies may be a lot slower, most questions can be answered with the info on our website and bookings can be made there too

✨ We’re Hiring at Arty Boat (Exmouth) ✨

We’re looking for someone friendly, reliable and hardworking to join our small team 💛

This is a zero-hours role and hours will vary depending on bookings and busy periods, so it may suit someone looking for flexible/additional income rather than guaranteed full-time hours.

🦆 The role includes:
• Hosting and running painting sessions
• Welcoming and chatting with customers
• Preparing drinks/snacks
• Large amounts of cleaning and washing up
• Setting up and resetting the studio
• Being on your feet for the entire session
• Keeping sessions running smoothly and confidently

🎨 This is a hands-on role with a lot of responsibility.

Once trained, the expectation is that you will confidently run sessions independently (or alongside another team member) without management present, particularly during busy holiday periods and weekends.

We are therefore looking for someone who is:
• Friendly and confident with people
• Calm under pressure
• Extremely reliable
• Proactive and able to use initiative
• Comfortable working independently
• Flexible with changing schedules
• Hardworking and happy to muck in
• Over 18

⏰ Weekend and school holiday availability is essential, alongside some weekday availability. Shifts and plans may occasionally change at short notice depending on bookings.
