The first of my botanical cast series - Cosmos Reverie sold before I even advertised them 🥺

They are for a birthday present so I’m not showing the finished article.

But here is me making them.

I’ll be making the next wave - Summer Meadow - this week.

I’ll be filming my making again, before putting the casts up for sale at the end of the week

🤗🌿🌸

Cosmos Reverie is the first piece in a collection of botanical casts created from flowers grown in my own flower field. Each delicate bloom is pressed into clay and cast in plaster.

The cosmos flowers used in this piece were grown, gathered and carefully selected from my own field in Devon. Every petal, stem and tiny detail becomes part of the impression, making each casting a unique record of a particular moment in the growing season. 🤗

How wonderful 😘

Stay tuned for the next set!

Although it’s been a challenging year, the gardens I have designed this year have done remarkably well 🤗

Choosing plants like Guara, verbena, echinacea, cosmos, cistus and herbs, they have THRIVED in the weather. Planting closely together to avoid bare soil and adding LOTS of organic matter, we’ve managed to dodge the Sahara desert look

I have a handful of projects that I take on each year, some commercial and others residential. If you are looking for either during autumn 2026 / spring 2027 then get in touch. My diary is always very heavy so best to get in touch sooner rather than later.

Autumn Brunch & Blooms

Although we are taking a break in August for the super popular brunch & blooms, we return in September for some really super themes

September 25th - Dahlias. Always such a popular one - and only a few spaces remaining

October - 16th - Mini dried flower hoops - we ran this theme a few years ago and was such a great session!

November 27th - small eucalyptus wreaths - this is a NEW THEME and I’m so surprised it hasn’t sold out yet!

December 11th - small Christmas wreaths. Half the spaces gone already…..

As always, your £35 ticket price includes a delicious brunch from my friends over at Dukes in Sidmouth.

A really enjoyable monthly affair and always so popular.

Head to the website to book on 🫶🏼

At the beginning of the year I made a decision that August would be lighter. I had a few large weddings already booked and I knew I wanted to take a break from teaching during this month 🤗

My year has been so busy. And I feel so lucky that it has, but sometimes when you are hosting and teaching and meeting so many people it becomes a bit unsustainable without a break 🙃

So here we are in August. My week is still full of ‘things’ but no events to run. And my goodness it feels strange 🥴. You crave so much a break, and when you take your foot off the gas you become a bit anxious …. Silly.

September is BUSY 🫣. Oh my goodness it’s busy. So I MUST, allow myself to enjoy the no hosting 🙏. Just for a few weeks 🤗

With the extra time away from running the events in August I have been Botanical Casting so I can release my first Floral Series to purchase! It has just been the nicest thing to do.

I shall be releasing a themed casting collection every few days to purchase from tomorrow evening. Whilst this is a new process for me each piece of art is priced at £40 inclusive of local delivery. I am also able to post for £10.

The first collection is called

🌸 Cosmos Reverie 🌸

Grown, gathered & cast from the field.
Each botanical cast begins in my own flower field, where the flowers are grown and gathered by hand. The delicate forms of each bloom are carefully pressed into clay to capture their natural shapes, textures and intricate details before being transformed into a lasting botanical relief. All of this takes place in my field workshop.

I’ll be photographing and releasing those for sale tomorrow at 7

So sometimes… it’s great to take a break from something to allow space for something else 🌸🤗

Something I provide a lot of is…

Mixed flower buckets. They are perfect for people that may have an event they want to flower or even a wedding.

They are a mixture of flowers - and are not specific. I can however follow a general colour theme…. Should you need just whites or greens for example.

Lots of buckets going out the door this week.

I have small availability next week due to a large wedding. So get in touch sooner rather than later

Well. 2026 summer flower farming is ummmm interesting.

I think we past the point of hopeful rain changing things some time ago 🙃. A quick flick through these photos will show my comparisons from this time last year - and I thought last year was BRUTAL. But it’s nothing on this.

Look at how ‘green’ everything was 😬….

The field still has flowers - LOADS of them. I am still fulfilling many orders but it’s just nowhere near the prolific growth of the past years. And with temps still 25-27 degrees with little rain that will do nothing it’s just…. Well a little exasperating to say the least 🙃

I decided at the beginning of the year to take a break from workshops in August and to slow down. And I am so grateful that I have. As you all know, my business is very varied. Growing flowers and the field is just a shop front to the many strings in my floral bow.

If growing flowers was all I did I would be tearing my hair out. But the teaching I undertake and the design work of residential and commercial garden space is pretty much not dependent on the drought. Thank god. I run workshops privately for those wanting to grow flowers and I work with clients I have had for years.

There is a lot that I do that I don’t shout about on here which keeps my business ticking over.

And of course - my collection of dried flowers is the greatest I have ever had 😂😂

2027 will need to be planned differently as this sadly will be the norm…. The hardy annuals grown in autumn and planted over winter were magnificent. I will grow lots more of those.

I will grow more drought resistant plants - zinnias, rudbeckia and echinacea are loving it - as are the strawflowers, Achillea and stattice.

So…. I’m ok with it looking crispy right now because there is so little I can do. I’m getting ready to sow my annuals to overwinter and I’m going to double everything 🤗

There’s a few spaces left on my seed sowing course in September if you’d like to come 🤗

And - the last picture pretty much sums up life - The Tree Surgeons Fat Thumb 😂

But for now, we are all just mulling over how to make the best of this drastic climate change 🤗

I’ll get my Del Boy hat out. I’m quite good at that 🫶🏼

Gosh, the botanical cast workshops sold out within the day 😬 and I’ve had numerous requests from businesses to run them… so that’s quite exciting for 2027🙏.

I shall be selling my casts in the run up to my workshops by way of a fortnightly ‘drop’. Obviously priced extremely appealingly at this stage but boxed and gift wrapped. I will only be able to offer collection for these pieces.

There have been many messages about flower delivery’s for next week - I have updated the website with lots of space and availability. So do head to the website to order 🌸

Thank you for the support as always. 💞

I’m looking for some brides who are getting married in August that I can cast their bridal bouquets and bridesmaids (you cast the bridesmaids to gift them to them as presents!) You must be local to drop your flowers off or happy to pay for boxing them in the post - the most ideal bouquets to cast are those using lots of texture and interest rather than a bouquet of just roses and eucalyptus for example….

This is a service I would like to offer going forward and therefore would like some practice and trial runs so offering to cast these for FREE. If you are interested please do get in touch [email protected] or on these platforms. 🤗

EDIT - SOLD OUT

I’m not sure I’ve ever had as much interest in a workshop than this one!

🍃 Please Join me for my first ever Botanical Casting Workshops - as discussed, they are heavily discounted for the first two dates and there are already spaces booked due to some very lovely long standing customers 🍃

🌸 Your workshop begins with a relaxed, step-by-step demonstration where you’ll learn how to prepare and roll the clay to create the perfect base for your botanical design.

🌸 You’ll then choose from a beautiful selection of seasonal flowers and foliage that I’ll bring from my flower field. I’ll guide you through arranging your botanicals before showing you how to gently press and roll them into the clay to capture every delicate petal, leaf vein and natural texture.

🌸 Once you’re happy with your design, you’ll learn how to make the mould before mixing and pouring plaster to create your finished cast. I’ll explain each stage along the way, sharing plenty of tips to help you achieve the best possible result.

🌸While your plaster sets (around 45 minutes), we’ll enjoy refreshments and chat about different ways to finish and display your botanical casting at home.

🌸The most exciting part comes at the end, when you carefully peel away the clay to reveal your finished botanical relief. Every flower leaves its own unique imprint, creating a beautiful piece of nature captured in plaster for you to take home and treasure.

Two dates to choose from:

Wednesday 9th September
6pm - 9pm

Wednesday 7th October
6pm - 9pm

Location:
The Du Buisson Room
Woodbury Village Hall
