We had the joy of hosting Ciara and Travis’s wedding on Saturday - our first wedding of the season, and what a beautiful day it was.

Ciara and her bridesmaids made a stunning entrance through the orchard before the couple exchanged vows on the terrace. Afterwards, guests enjoyed drinks from the bar alongside a coffee and cake reception served by our friends .

For their wedding breakfast, Ciara and Travis chose a sit-down curry feast, beautifully prepared by , who made their Windout debut. Speeches followed, along with donuts for dessert - a crowd favourite!

As the evening unfolded, guests were treated to incredible live music from a fantastic band and talented musicians from , creating a fun and lively atmosphere to celebrate late into the night.

We’re so thrilled for Ciara and Travis. They curated an epic day that felt relaxed and joyful. Congratulations to the new Mr and Mrs Young.

Happy World Bee Day 🐝
There are definitely highs and lows in beekeeping. At Windout we lost one swarm to the wilds this season, but we’re delighted that one hive is thriving - and a new Queen arrives this week.

It’s our twenty-year anniversary today.

When we got married at 24, just out of university, we had no real sense of what life would hold, although a life connected to farming was always the hope. It’s been quite an adventure - and a steady, enduring partnership. I’m very aware of what’s taken shape over time - not just in the bigger milestones, but in the ordinary, everyday ways we’ve built a life together with our four children.

Sam - not one for public attention - has been a constant. A great husband, father, farmer, and creator of projects; someone who can hold a lot and quietly get things done. He carries a quiet strength, brings a lot of fun, and is the rock in our family - the one who keeps things moving, who encourages, steadies, and cares for us deeply.

This is why we love creating space at Windout to host weddings and champion marriage - not as an ideal, but as something lived. Something shaped over time through commitment, patience, respect, and choosing each other in every season - with the odd cold swim and tandem bike tour along the way.

Very grateful to be married to this man, and for these twenty years.
