Actually one of my favourite flower seasons. Rich tones, branches, moss. So many different textures… and the flowers are striking.

I actually forgot last week (too busy ferrying my son around to sports games)

This is a gorgeous summer wedding Cadhay House, Holiday Cottages & Gardens, Devon where we used a fabulous mix of British florals in pastel shades. Mixed in with some key David Austin Juliet roses.

Did you know that Florists are also weightlifters?

The amount of lifting and shifting we do in wedding season matches a gym workout.

Friday’s wedding saw us build an outside installation. Getting it all down the steps was the easy part but by the finished product included the additional weight of water and flowers. Shifting that stuff back to the marquee was hefty working.

Superwoman came to the rescue to carry the second plinth because I was done in 😆

Meanwhile was wrestling with a trolley full of flowers up a very steep hill.

Florists = strong women! 💪🏼

Flowers in art form.

Whilst I’m busy creating wedding flowers I get inspired to create art in other ways.

This is my second floral collage this season.
All the papers and colours created by me using a geli plate print and acrylic paints.
I then spend hours cutting shapes to create flowers.

What do you think? Shall I make a series?

This early autumn wedding happened about six years ago Pynes House | Luxury Wedding Venue Devon

It was an intimate affair where I created the bridal bouquet, buttonholes and some focal flowers that were moved around the venue for the day.
