WEDDINGS & EVENTS
Phil plays with a unique looping technique that takes you right into the heart of the song. Expect to hear heartfelt tracks for your ceremony then breaking into beatboxing, harmonies and ripping guitar solos all with one guitar, a microphone and zero backing tracks to entertain your guests during drinks. Complement the day with Phil's professional dance floor filling band for a spectacular evening party!

Building Bob Marley into a full band, one part at a time.

A little Is This Love during a wedding drinks reception.

This is probably my favourite way to use looping. Start with something simple, build enough underneath me to give the song some movement, get it done quickly then let it sit comfortably in the background while everyone gets on with the important bit… enjoying the wedding.

No need to take over the room. Just give it a good soundtrack.

Some crowds just bring more out of you.

You feel the energy coming back, you start pushing things a little harder, messing around a little more, and suddenly the whole gig lifts.

That back-and-forth between performer and crowd is probably my favourite part of playing live.

You give a little more because they’re giving it straight back.

Turns out Tenacious D transcends generations…

There are certain songs you start playing and suddenly realise pretty much everyone knows them.

Tribute is apparently one of them. 😂

Absolutely loved this lot.

The bride’s the main event. I provide the soundtrack.

A little Be the One by Dua Lipa for Amy & Neil’s wedding at

This is exactly how I like a drinks reception to feel. Everyone having a drink, catching up and enjoying the afternoon while the live music sits underneath everything that’s already happening.

It doesn’t always need to take over the room, it just needs to be part of the day.

Building the band without stopping the song…

One thing I’ve always tried to avoid with live looping is making everyone stand around waiting while I build a loop.

So with Layla, the song is already happening while I start putting everything underneath it.

Chords first.
Then the bass line.
Then an octave-up backing vocal from the VE-500 while I’m still singing the chorus.

By the time that’s done, I’ve built something that can carry the song without me…

which means I can go and have a play. 🎸

This is probably my favourite part of looping live. Building the arrangement is useful. The freedom it gives me afterwards is the fun bit.

Sometimes you just know the crowd’s up for a party. It got CRAZY as the night went on.

A bit of Hells Bells, people getting closer, joining in and the whole thing starting to lift.

I love gigs like this. Once the crowd starts getting involved, you can stop worrying about the setlist quite so much and just follow where the room wants to go.

Blink-182… but make it drinks reception.

A little All The Small Things for Abi & Ash at

This is exactly how I like drinks receptions to feel. Familiar songs, kept relaxed enough that everyone can grab a drink, catch up and enjoy the afternoon while the music sits underneath it all. (Unless you want madness and I can cater for that 😂)
