Heavy Stylus: An explosive amalgamation of Jamaican roots, hip hop beats, heavy soul breaks and blaxploitation ghetto-funk. ly Duckling and DJ Format. Although I started as a vinyl-only DJ in Bristol, these days I use a pair of industry-standard Pioneer CDJs as my weapons of choice. I’m currently a resident (of 9 years) at the Angel Bar on Queen Street, and in the past have held Exeter-based residencies at The Monkey Suit, Timepiece and Verve (now Urban Underground), as well as DJing regularly for Hold it Down. Can’t, Won’t, Don’t Stop is more than just a mix - it’s a tribute to 25 years behind the decks.

From block party breaks to neck-snapping boom-bap, this hour-long session cuts deep into the DNA of funk, hip-hop, and sample-heavy soul. Expect a hard-hitting mix packed with golden-era grit, b-boy breaks and underground heat.

Every one of these 26 tracks tells a story. They've rocked sweaty basements, backrooms, festival tents and city dive bars with sticky dancefloors. They’ve provided the soundtrack to late-night drives through Devon’s country lanes and dusty-fingered digging excursions in Bristol and record shops further afield.

Consider this a snapshot. A rewind. A love letter to the culture that made me the DJ and record collector I am today. At 46 years old, I still can’t stop, won’t stop - and don’t plan to anytime soon.
