Unpopular opinion: Security Officers are allowed to have fun too 👀

Professional when it matters. Approachable always. And apparently... questionable dance moves included🕺💃

Great event security isn't about standing in a corner looking intimidating. It's about engaging with the crowd, creating a positive atmosphere and making people feel comfortable approaching you

Our team can go from dancing with the crowd to dealing with an incident professionally in seconds; and guess what? Being so up-close with crowds: a) makes it easier to spot when things start going wrong, and b) make the crowds more at ease!

Conner has been a huge part of Emrys over the years, and we’re incredibly grateful for everything he brings to the team. His hard work, loyalty, commitment and willingness to always get stuck in never go unnoticed

It’s people like Conner who have helped make Emrys what it is today, and it genuinely wouldn’t be the same without him. We’re very lucky to have someone who has been with us for so long and continues to give so much to the company, the team and our clients

Coming Soon - Emrys Personal Safety Sessions

At Emrys, we're passionate about creating safer communities; not just by providing professional security and medical services, but by giving people the knowledge and confidence to look after themselves too

The responsibility for violence will always lie with those who choose to commit it, not with the people it affects. But we also believe that knowledge builds confidence.

✨ That's why we're excited to announce that we'll soon be offering practical personal safety classes, delivered by our Operations Director Marty, an ex-Royal Marines Commando with years of operational and security experience

These sessions aren't about encouraging people to fight or training how to become a Security Officer. They're about:

Building confidence
Improving awareness of your surroundings.
Understanding conflict avoidance and de-escalation
Learning simple, effective techniques if you ever need them
Creating a supportive environment where everyone can learn

Whether you're looking to feel more confident walking home, heading out with friends, or simply want to learn new skills, these classes are designed to be practical, realistic and empowering

Earlier this year, MD Chloe caught up with Councillor Graham Deasy at Exmouth Festival while our teams were providing security and medical cover throughout the event

It's always great to meet with those who are passionate about supporting our local community and the fantastic events that bring people together ❤️

At Emrys, we're proud to play our part in helping events across the South West remain safe, welcoming, and enjoyable for everyone. With 19 years' experience in the NHS Ambulance Service, Martin brings a wealth of frontline, leadership and operational expertise to our team

His career has included roles as:

✔️ Lead Paramedic
✔️ Operational Officer
✔️ Operational & Tactical Commander

Alongside extensive experience in emergency response, Martin has a passion for clinical excellence, patient care, governance, and developing high-performing teams

For our team, it means learning from one of the most experienced professionals in the field

And for Emrys... it's another step towards raising the standard of event medical provision

A smile is one of THE most underrated pieces of security equipment

The best Security Officers know when to be approachable, when to reassure, and when to step in

At Emrys, we believe Security is about building confidence, not creating fear

People are far more likely to ask for help from someone who looks like they actually WANT to help; and to accept help from someone that doesn’t look like they’d rather be anywhere else

Professional doesn't have to mean unfriendly; and a smile can go a long way

Unpopular opinion: An SIA licence doesn't automatically make someone a good Security Operative 👀

There are a lot of other Security companies around, but having a license is just the basic legal requirement to do the job..

Professionalism, communication, integrity, empathy, and sound judgement is what makes someone a good security officer

Anyone can wear a uniform with a badge.

But the best security officers know how to calm a situation instead of escalating it. They treat everyone with respect, remain calm under pressure, and understand that customer service is just as important as keeping people safe
