One of our most recent projects took us to Millstead Primary School, in the heart of Liverpool.

For the children here, the playground should be a place to play, explore, learn and have fun but it was anything but.

Broken and rusty trampolines, weeds pushing through the astro, a rotten stage and a tired old auditorium had left the space feeling neglected and more importantly, unsafe.

Millstead supports children aged 2–11 with complex learning and developmental needs, and their incredible staff work tirelessly every day to give every child the best possible opportunities.

So, we wanted to help give their outdoor space a new lease of life.

Working closely with the school, we’ve created a new outdoor shelter with sensory and activity boards, tables and seating, alongside a sensory nature pathway with covered areas for smaller groups.

We’ve also added insect hotels, a colourful tunnel and, of course, some brand-new trampolines!

The result is a space that’s safer, more accessible and packed with opportunities for the children to play, explore, learn and enjoy being outdoors.

And honestly, we couldn’t be happier with how it’s turned out.

On 24th October, Better Together - Exmouth are getting together as many people as possible to give the Scout Hut in Exmouth a bit of a makeover. There’s loads to get stuck into including cutting, clearing, tidying and generally getting the place looking fresh! 🛠️🌿

So, if you’re in Exmouth, free that day and fancy doing something good for the community, you should go and get involved!

The Scout Hut has been a big part of our community for years and this is a great chance to give a little something back.

There’s no limit on numbers, so the more the merrier! Bring yourself, bring a mate and get your hands dirty!

A little behind-the-scenes look at the team behind our latest Liverpool project.

We’ve just wrapped up and there’s plenty more to come. We’ll be revealing the full project next week but for now, here’s a little teaser…

You might even spot a few of the design elements and details hiding in the background !

More coming soon.

We’re taking you behind the scenes of our next build… starting from the tree.

This timber was locally sourced and felled right here in Devon before making its way to the sawmill. Jacob’s been putting in the hours, milling all the timber for this next project.

Right now, he’s working through some Douglas fir, one of the strongest softwoods for its weight, which is exactly why we’ve started using it more in our builds.

More information on what this next project is coming soon, so follow along as we take it from raw logs to a finished build!

After years of wear, tear and rot, the much loved adventure swing at Triangle Adventure Playground, London’s oldest on-site adventure playground, had reached the end of its life. It was time to get rid of the old and make way for something new.

At Triangle, children are encouraged to spend their time getting outdoors, using tools, connecting with nature, building, creating, and learning through play.

As Gabriel Green, Deputy Senior Play Worker, puts it, they have “the freedom to play and also the freedom to make mistakes.” It’s all about giving young people the chance to take risks, build confidence, and learn practical skills through experience.

That’s exactly why we love what they’re doing and feel honoured to have played a small part in the next chapter of such an incredible community space.

If you’d like to learn more about their amazing work and impact, go give them a follow!

“Red red 𝗐̶𝗂̶𝗇̶𝖾̶ School Bag...”! Here are a few final shots of the School in a Bag Busking Stage we built a couple weeks ago alongside a load of festival goers at Home Farm Festival!

A huge THANK YOU to the Get HandsOn team who alongside the Rix Brothers & lots of other Home Farm Festival attendees built this incredible SchoolBag Busking Stage! 👏🎒❤️🎶

We’re in awe. 😎❤️

Home Farm Festival 19 (2026), thank you once again for an incredible weekend!

We had an absolute blast creating the busking stage, designed in the shape of a School in a Bag, to help raise awareness for such an amazing charity and the life-changing work they do.

If you haven't heard of School in a Bag before, you can learn more about their mission here:

https://lnkd.in/e69djHAh

To date, they have delivered more than 175,000 School Bags across 61 countries. Each bag is filled with educational resources and given to disadvantaged, displaced, and disaster-affected children around the world, helping to provide access to education where it's needed most.

Their mission of transforming lives through education resonates deeply with us. It's also one of the reasons we're so passionate about building outdoor classrooms and learning spaces for schools and charities across the UK, especially in communities where they can make the greatest impact.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, supported the cause and helped us spread the word.

One of our recent Studio projects that we completed in our glorious home county of Devon. Situated to overlook the rolling landscape of Dartmoor, this studio was specifically designed for it’s environment, with a living sedum roof and overhanging eaves to make the most of the longer evenings…
