CALL OUT FOR INDEPENDENT CHAIR
Pride in Place £20 million funding for South Whipton and East Heavitree (area includes Birchy Barton).
The local area has been awarded £20 million of national government funding over the next 10 years. We are in the fourth round of the Pride in Place programme.
The ten year project is just getting started and the first step is to recruit an independent Chair to lead formation of the independent community board. There will be a full time employed officer at Exeter City Council supporting the chair and the board, including agendas, reports etc.
This site describes the project.

I think it's really important for our area for there to be a decent shortlist of applicants with really good connections to place and community. Deadline is TJHIS FRIDAY 26 June. A job share is allowed.
I have spent several hours this weekend and today contacting people who run community events, groups, teams etc. and who live, work or run programmes in the area of coverage, and asking them to apply. If I haven't called you or emailed you apologies! Please do call me if you think you're right for the role 07485 194 779 or contact the people at the link. I have called people in the Whipton, Birchy Barton and Heavitree areas right across the zone.
The map of the area is on the first tile at the website above, and the person specification at the third tile. The map, which I've pasted here too, is admittedly a funny shape. It's the "Middle Super Output Area" the Office of National Statistics has used under successive governments.
Please amplify to others you feel suitable based on the information included at the link. Remember to apply by Friday 26th June.
