It’s been an arch day today!! Firstly setting up an arch for a wedding, filled with Spring colours.

Followed by teaching an arch making lesson! This one is made very differently from the morning one. It’s all about the mechanics! Get them right and the arch making is definitely easier.

They are one of my favourite things to make! So it’s been a fabulous day with lovely company and filled with flowers, what more could you want.

The Introduction to Floristry evening class running over 5 weeks starts on Thursday 23rd May!

It's a great class for those who love flowers and want to learn some new techniques & skills. Each week we will cover a new design which you will make and take home to enjoy.

Each session will be approx 2.5 hours (6:30pm - 9pm) and the price includes all materials, course notes, equipment, tea, coffee & cake. Also includes a complimentary pair of floristry scissors.

New to the schedule - some willow weaving classes!

Willow is such a wonderful material to use! So tactile, warm and you can create the most amazing shapes.

- Garden obelisk
- Garden plant cloche

All perfect classes for beginners or those with a little experience. If you’ve never worked with willow, come along and see how magical it is to use!

Wow, how did 5 weeks go so quickly! Last week of the 5 week Introduction to Floristry course.

Making big blowsy hand tied bouquets!! They all looked amazing and they are not the easiest of things to make. I'm slightly cruel too as everyone makes a bouquet and then I get them to undo it all and make the bouquet again! Nothing beats practice and more practice.

I have loved our Thursday mornings together and look forward to the next 5 week course starting on Thursday 23rd May.

Here we are at week 4 already. Only one week left on the Introduction to Floristry class.

So a busy morning making these fabulous arrangements! Firstly creating a copper mesh & straw pillow to create a wave shape. Then adding some gorgeous flowers - clematis, ranunculus, baby germini, craspedia, chasmanthium, umbrella fern along with lily grass & bear grass. All of the flowers placed in the design to follow the flow of the wave.

Have to say they look super amazing!!

Last week next Thursday, can't believe how quickly the weeks have gone.

The next 5 week class will start on the 23rd May if you are keen to learn more about floristry and try making 5 different designs.

They are real statement pieces and well done to everyone!

Always have to make sure they will fit in their cars when we are making them!!

Look at these smiling faces from Thursdays Wedding Flowers workshop!

A whole day just focused on wedding flowers and all that it entails. Lots of discussions about costings, quoting, consultations, buying, planning & logistics.

Fabulous bridal bouquets, buttonholes & corsages, jars of flowers and beautiful wedding urns made throughout the day.

I had a great day and enjoyed seeing everything being made and everyone happy to take on wedding work! What an exciting prospect.

Well here we are at the end of our six week adventure! Sitting at the airport waiting for the flight for the first part of our journey home.

It truly has been the trip of a lifetime. North Island New Zealand has been magical and again too many pics to choose just a few to show you.

With the hugest of thanks to Rachel Lodestone Travel for organising our trip for us!! Definitely have a chat with her if your are organising an overseas trip.

Think it’s going to be a shock coming home when we’ve spent the last six weeks in shorts & summer yoga! Hopefully Spring is not too far away.

Absolutely gorgeous Contemporary wreaths made by everyone. Again, every single one of them was different.

Everyone gets to create a wreath that they love and make it their own. I don’t like being too prescriptive in my classes, we’re all individuals after all!!

A great morning with lots of laughter and chatter. I have loved all of the wreath classes. Garland class to tomorrow and I’d put money on them all ending up unique too!

It’s a wrap! The last week of the 5 week Introduction to Floristry class where we made big blowsy hand tied bouquets with gift wrapping!

It’s been a brilliant few weeks and everyone has left with huge smiles which is wonderful to see. They have also left with new skills and the confidence to continue playing with flowers. Exactly what I wanted!

Something a little different for Week 4 of the 5 week Introduction to floristry course! A contemporary design with a structure made from straw and wire. Creating a wave effect with the structure and the flowers were placed over to flow with the shape.

I think everyone did an amazing job! Look at the results!!

Here we are with Week 2 of the 5 week Introduction to Floristry course! Despite the storm last week changing plans we managed to get most of the group along Sunday morning to make relaxed and natural parallel arrangements. Filled with grasses, tiny little germini, crocosmia, rose hips, helenium amongst other Autumnal elements and all finished with moss.
