As we enter this new decade I have been, like many, reflecting on the year past.
I wanted to take this opportunity to give a great big 'Thank You' shout out to all my beautiful brides and followers, past, present and future. Without you all I would not be able to do what I do, to love and enjoy it the way I do and to receive so much satisfaction from my work.
It has been such a busy busy year of great change.
Early last January saw us moving out to a tiny rural village. This has had a profound effect on me. I adore nature & to be surrounded by the beauty I now find myself living amongst is an amazing feeling. I don't know if I could fully express the joy it has brought me, nor the inspiration. I only wish that nearly 12 months later there still wasn't even more unpacking to do.
A few months later we sadly had to bid farewell to our cat Moo. She was not so enamoured by her new environment. It was a difficult decision that we had to make, with the advice of the vet, to have her rehomed, but it was extremely important to us both that her happiness come first. We think & talk of her often, she will always be in our hearts.
A little while after our unexpected sadness we welcomed a new family member. Our pets are our children so living without a furry companion felt completely unnatural. We couldn't bring ourselves to replace our beloved Moo with another cat and so we rescued Misty, a daft & d***y 7 year old Dalmatian from Dogs Trust. She has brought so much love, affection, loyalty and trust into our new home. From the very first minute, she settled in so quickly and promptly decided she was Queen of the household. She enchanted our fellow villagers & proudly trotted off with the title of 'Waggiest tail in the village at the annual summer fete. We feel so utterly blessed to be sharing our lives with her, she is a ridiculously special girl who has found her own place in our hearts... & on our sofa... & on our bed (you get the drift lol) We wouldn't be without her for the world.
Although my posting on here has been, to put it generously, sporadic at best, I have had the honour of working with more & more gorgeous brides each year. I sincerely hope that I have been able to help add even the tiniest bit of magic to their dream days.
I endeavour to imbue as much love & attention as possible into each piece I produce. Obviously this requires quite a fair amount of time be spent creating (oh what a terrible life! lol)
It was to be able to devote this badly needed time to the growth of this part of my business, coupled with moving to a home with a garden large enough to house a studio and the ever increasing shift to ordering online, that convinced me to finally let go of my little shop. Retail was never my dream, nor my aim, it was simply a tool for me to access my true love of creativity.
There was a little sadness I do have to admit, but it has been kind of overshadowed by the excitement of the prospect of a real studio with the space I need, designed the way I want it and by the chance to really concentrate on my creations.
While my order book for the coming year is thankfully already starting to fill up. I'm hoping to finally be able to produce some ready to wear pieces, do some photoshoots, create a proper website and post on a much more regular basis in the future.
I have so many many plans & am filled with passion for this new adventure ahead.
I am grateful for so many things from the last year and, indeed, decade and you guys have been a huge part of it
From the bottom of my heart, Thank you all!
I hope each & every one of you has the happiest of New Years!
Lots of love
Tasha (Truffle) Morgan (Podge) and Misty
