🕊️ Remembering Eddie Fray — 4 Years Today 🕊️
Today marks four years since we lost Eddie Fray to su***de.
Four years may have passed, but Eddie's loss is still deeply felt by family, his friends, his colleagues and the wider paranormal community.
Eddie wasn't just a part of the Festival of the Unexplained story — he was there at the very beginning.
Together with his wife Karen and their friend Jolene Jackson-Lockwood, Eddie helped create the original vision for Festival of the Unexplained.
He became our Co-Founder, Co-Owner and financial backer, putting his belief, support and resources behind the idea and helping Karen turn that vision into reality.
As the Festival grew team changes happened Jolene moved onto pasturres new, other friendships became teamwork. Rachel Ashman, Nicki Scollan, Gemma Oldfield and Penny Griffith-Morgan joined the journey and became part of the Festival team for a period of time before eventually moving on, also Eddie would be proud his parabro Russ Bevin is part of the team along with our current team members Jay Austin Mandy West Alister Sheward Catherine Cookson Andy Booth , the past and present Speakers, Festival family, workshop hosts, stallholders. Far too many amazing people to mention that have in the past and currently do contribute to continue his legacy. ❤️ Karen family members Jenny Foster Adrian Miles Dawn Miles and others.
People may have moved in different directions over the years, but those friendships, memories and contributions will always be part of the Festival's history.
And Eddie's involvement in the paranormal world went far beyond Festival of the Unexplained.
He was a familiar face within the paranormal community, a friend and colleague to many,, making connections and sharing his passion for the unexplained with others.
💙 Today, we remember the person behind all of this — Eddie.
A husband.
A friend.
A colleague.
A member of the paranormal community.
A man who had dreams, passions and plans for the future.
And today is also a reminder of something incredibly important:
Mental health matters.
Su***de leaves behind a lifetime of questions and an unimaginable amount of pain for those left behind.
We cannot always see what someone is going through.
So please, check in with your friends. Check in with your family. Check in with your colleagues.
Ask how they really are.
Listen.
Don't judge.
And if you're struggling yourself, please talk to someone. You don't have to face everything alone.
Sometimes the strongest thing we can do is simply say:
“I'm not okay.”
Four years later, Eddie remains part of our story.
His vision helped lay the foundations for something that continues to bring people together.
His friendships remain.
His memories remain.
His contribution to the paranormal community remains.
And his name will never be forgotten.
Eddie — forever loved, forever remembered, forever part of the Festival of the Unexplained story. 🕊️❤️
