With lots of new followers we thought we’d introduce ourselves!

Hi! We’re Karen & Alex – the mother and daughter duo behind Merrymeade Tea Rooms. 🤍

Mums catering journey started with AbFab Catering and Events which we still run along side Merrymeade. Owning a tea room was once a dream which become reality in 2017 , it’s now grown into an award-winning, family-run tea room, and this year we’re incredibly proud to be celebrating our 9th year in business.

Running a small business isn’t always easy. Working with family isn’t always easy ! Between us, we’ve both faced health challenges, and more recently I’ve been navigating the beautiful chaos of becoming a new mum. There have been days where it’s felt incredibly tough, but our love for Merrymeade, our wonderful team and amazing customers keeps us going.

Every afternoon tea, homemade scone, celebration, and friendly chat is made with genuine love and care. Creating a place where people can slow down, connect, and make memories means everything to us.

And this year, you helped make another dream come true… 🏆
