The finishing touches shouldn’t feel like an afterthought, they should speak to each other.
Pearls, mother of pearl and organic forms move from the surface of the dress into the jewellery and shoes.
I love accessories that don’t simply complement a dress, but pick up a detail and carry the idea a little further.

There’s a precision to simplicity.

The upwards arching neckline (one of my all time favourite neckline styles) was designed to make the viewers double take. A small shift from a traditional strapless neckline, but one that completely changes the character of the dress. This upwards arc uses the angles of the body in reverse to create a beautiful framing of the décolleté. Different, but also a simple change for big impact, and I LOVE it!

Cut in textured raw ivory silk, wedding dress where every line has a purpose (Bride, Emma, works in interiors!) and the simplest details becomes the defining ones.

A dress should come alive in movement, always changing and adapting in form.
The silhouette changes as the person wearing it moves, and the inevitable breeze. Controlled in one moment, cut to fall long and fluid against the body, expansive in the next.

I’ve realised that I spend so much time talking about my work that I rarely talk about myself.

So, hello. I’m Charlotte Wilden.

I’m endlessly curious. I notice and care for minute details. Twinkling beads in old portrait painting. The way light pigment mixes on a corner of the page. The shape of a shell, a flower, or a piece of antique jewellery. I collect these moments without really meaning to, and somehow they find their way into my work.

I’m drawn to craftsmanship, history and beautiful things that have been made with care. I love old techniques, and reinvent them to create modern design.

Creating dresses has never been just a career for me. It’s how I make sense of the world. Every design is another opportunity to create something beautiful that didn’t exist before.

Happy Anniversary, Victoria Derbyshire!

Bespoke design is about creating a dress that is deeply personal woman wearing it, and to be treasured long after the wedding.

Victoria’s dress was designed around graceful and elegant silhouette and understated yet rich detail.

Layers of fine tulle in white and blue were scattered with individually applied silk daisy motifs, creating texture that only truly reveals itself up close.
Delicate n**e toned French lace sleeves added subtle and traditional bridal detail.
The waist embellishment was individually composed using silver crystals, sparkling glass beads and metallic embroidery, designed to catch the light softly.

I love to design were many intricate details work together in harmony to create a soft and subtle, yet impactful statement.

Seeing a dress come to life is the best part of designing a bespoke wedding dress.
Always confident in the vision; the curved neckline, the textured fabric and removable overskirt, we perfected the proportions and shape over several fittings to bring the dress into being.
