Wilden London - Wedding Dress Design Fabrics are encrusted with jewels, embroidered with vintage and re-worked lace, and beautifully hand-painted.

Each invitation to our Wilden x Duboux show was accompanied by a handmade silk flower.

Hand-painted petals, stems wrapped in silk, delicate lace and bead embellishments, finished with hand-cut silk ribbons in soft blush and ivory.

Created as a keepsake for our guests, a little something directly from the catwalk.

Short and chic, neat and sweet.

Something borrowed from traditional bridal, with a little Vegas attitude.

Romantic lace, dramatic sleeves and a sweeping veil. I love taking traditional bridal details and giving them a completely different personality.

And really, where better than Las Vegas?

When all those hours of placing, pinning and stitching finally become a finished dress.

I wanted the lace to feel as though it had been moulded around the body, rather than simply laid over it. I worked with the pattern as one continuous design, placing it piece by piece and stitching everything by hand so that the lace follows the shape of the gown.

Underneath is a soft ethereal layer of sequins, just enough to catch the light through the lace without ever feeling overtly sparkly.

Now finished and hanging in the studio, waiting for its final try-on before it leaves with its bride.

The lace has been placed piece by piece, following the lines of the body so that when it’s finished, it looks as though it moulds around the figure in one continuous piece.

Each section is positioned, pinned and then stitched into place by hand — joining motifs, disguising edges and working around the shape of the dress so your eye doesn’t really see where one piece ends and another begins.

I wanted the lace to feel as though it belonged to the shape of the dress, rather than simply sitting on top of it.

Underneath sits a very subtle layer of sequins. Not enough to make the dress feel overtly sparkly, just enough to catch the light through the lace as she moves.

It’s a slow process, but that’s rather the point.

A beaded leaf lace forms the foundation, layered with hand embroidered beaded roses, sparkling silver detailing, ribbon-embroidered flowers and scattered glass beads and Swarovski cosmic crystals - different textures catching the light in different ways.

The silhouette is long column skirt, a fine silk ribbon at the waist and a soft chiffon frill trailing through the train.

And then, the sleeves. Long and slim, interrupted by an exaggerated puff shoulder inspired by antique dress (not so glamorously named - leg-o-mutton) but romantic in shape, but sharper and more modern in proportion.

Old-world craft. Modern form.

We originally planned to transform Fliss’s mum’s 1980s wedding dress into her ceremony gown.

There was just one problem… Fliss is significantly taller than her mum.

So rather than forcing the original dress to become something it couldn’t, we reimagined it.

The silk became a mini dress for her London ceremony, finished with pearl embroidery and details kept inintact from the original gown, right down to the sleeves, bows and a little heart-shaped bag made from the pearl bodice.

And for the wedding celebration? A completely new gown, designed in the image of her mum’s original with modern touches.

Something old, made entirely her own.

Embroidery, stitching, draping, pinning and unpinning - and quite a lot of faffing!

The part before the finished dress.

Every Wilden gown passes through my hands, from the first idea to the final stitch.
Some of it is intricate couture work, some of it is deceptively simple, and some of it is simply just trying something, changing it and trying again.

Because the making is as much a part of the design as the finished piece.

Made for the aisle, not just the runway.

A softly structured, hand-draped pleated corset paired with a fluid lace appliquéd skirt.
And then, the veil.

Originally worn by her mother, we reworked it for a contemporary feel, changing the silhouette and adding lace, placed to create a layered and luxurious feel with the lace embroidered skirt underneath, while keeping the original veil and sentiment at its heart.

Heritage, reimagined.

Something old doesn’t have to remain untouched to retain its meaning. It can evolve, become even more personal, and tell a continuation of a family story.

Made by hand in London, worn under the Italian sun.
