From bright June sunlight to a packed dance floor…

One of the nicest things about summer celebrations is how naturally the whole day unfolds.

Guests gathering outside in the sunshine.
Drinks turning into dinner.
Sunset arriving quietly in the background while everyone settles into the evening.

And then later, everything changing pace completely once the music starts.
A full day that never really feels rushed - just one moment gradually leading into the next.

We have just a couple of Saturdays in Summer 2027 remaining - if it’s something you’ve been thinking about, now feels like a good time to explore it a little further.

There’s a reason everything slows down at this time of day…

Summer evenings tend to stretch things out a little here.
Drinks lasting longer than expected.
People lingering outside.
Conversations continuing as the light slowly changes around them.

By golden hour, everything feels softer.
The gardens settle into the evening, candles begin to appear, and the whole atmosphere changes without anyone really noticing it happen.

It’s often the point in the day where people stop thinking about timelines and simply enjoy being there.

Love is love. It always has been here.

June feels like the right time to say something that, honestly, should never need saying at all.

Whoever you are, whoever you love, and however your celebration looks - you are welcome here. Always.

Some of the best gatherings we’ve witnessed over the years have been the ones that felt completely true to the people at the centre of them.
Not performative. Not shaped around expectation. Just honest, joyful and full of people who mattered deeply to each other.

That’s what we care about most.

Creating a place where people can celebrate fully, comfortably and entirely as themselves.

The first few minutes as a married couple…

There’s a moment, just after it’s all official.
The ceremony is over.
The formal part is done.

And for a second, it’s just the two of you - walking back through it all, taking in what’s just happened.

Arriving back at the Court.
Having a moment in the Dining Room, just the two of you.
A brief pause before stepping out.

And then…
Everything waiting on the other side.
The noise, the energy, the people, the confetti.
It only lasts a few minutes.

But it’s the moment it all really lands.

The last part of the celebration…

It doesn’t end when the music stops.

The next morning has its own kind of atmosphere.
Breakfast in the Dining Room - long tables, sunlight pouring in, portraits of generations past watching quietly over it all.

Coffee being poured.
Plates passed around.
Stories from the night before being retold (and slightly reworked).
A proper breakfast - cooked, continental, and for some, a Bloody Mary that feels well-earned.

It’s the last chance everyone has to gather like this, before people begin to leave and everything slowly returns to normal.

No pressure.
No schedule.

Just good food, slow conversations, and a gentle ending to something truly magical.

The moments people remember aren’t always the big ones…

It’s often the smaller things.
A conversation.
A detail that means something.
A moment that wasn’t planned.

Those are the ones that stay with people.

Not the elaborate additions.
Not the parts that have been overthought or overworked.

More often, it’s the moments in between - when everyone relaxes into it a little, when something unexpected happens, when you stop thinking about the plan and simply enjoy being there.

That’s usually where the best parts of the day are found.

A few dishes from the new menus, created by our new Head Chef - seasonal ingredients, thoughtful cooking, and plenty grown or sourced close to home.

Food that feels generous, considered, and connected to the time of year.

What happens inside stays inside…

Emma and Richard’s wedding was nearly two years ago now and it’s a day that’s still spoken about here. 

The music got louder, the dance floor fuller, and somehow the energy just kept building. By the end of the night, they’d completely brought the house down.

And outside?
Nothing changed.
Quiet. Undisturbed.

The Gillyflower was designed that way from the start - so the party can feel exactly as it should, without needing to hold anything back.

The same place, holding completely different moments.

A dinner the night before in the Main Hall - long tables, everyone gathered, something that feels relaxed and welcoming.

Then the next day, the room takes on a different role.
A ceremony shaped around tradition.
And then a drinks reception that feels like an event in itself.

Or outside, with the landscape becoming part of it all - whether for the ceremony itself, or drinks, music and time spent outdoors before the evening begins.

And later, everything moves into the Gillyflower - from a seated dinner to a full dance floor under our state of the art lighting system, immersed in music through our Funktion-One sound system.

It’s never about forcing one space to do everything.
It’s about allowing each part of the place to come into its own.

Where everyone stays matters more than you think…

It’s not just about where the day happens.
It’s about where everyone wakes up the next morning.

No taxis.
No splitting off.
No rushing away.

Just staying together - before, during and after everything unfolds.

And often, those more intimate, unplanned moments
are the ones people remember the most.
