We've just about recovered from spending the month of August in Sherwood Forest for the amazing Robin Hood Festival, it has been one of the highlights of the year! Onwards though as we head out in a few days to join our Swordpunk Family in Newnham Paddox for swordfighting, swashbuckling and shenanigans

We are storming ahead with preparing for the Robin Hood Festival - Fantasy in the Greenwood Weekend this coming weekend. As you may have heard there is going to be a DnD tent doing taster sessions for all you fellow Role-Players, so of course we are bringing the supply of dice bags and DnD related wares for all you lovely folk. Wow what a fantastic event Fantasy Forest is!
Thank you so much to everyone who visited our little shop Another World Apparel, powered by Danni Outhwaite, it means so so much, and every sale gives us a little happy dance 😁 looking forward to seeing you again next year and hopefully also the Libertalia event in September 2026.

About Another World Apparel

Hi I’m Danni and I am a designer and fabricator of costumes, props and Special Effects. I am a huge fan of fantasy and Sci-Fi genres in different forms; from books to video games, I love them all, and find them a great inspiration in my work. Over the years I have managed to experiment with and develop a variety of skills to help me on my way through my career. I love to learn new skills and find anything crafty or “hands on” of great interest to me. A lot of my work is mixed media so having these skills is a great help when designing new products.

Since a young age I have always loved playing dress up, not as princesses or anything along those lines but more of characters I saw in films or in books; warriors, archers, witches and wizards. I ended up making a bit of a hobby out of it and in my spare time, would spend hours trying to figure out how a particular costume was made, and find the materials to make it myself. My first great inspiration to want to do this as a career for came when I watched the behind the scenes for The Lord of the Rings trilogy. The fact that there was a possibility to do what I love as a living inspired me to learn as much as I can about the film industry.

I decided to seek further education to build up skills to advance my career. I went to Leeds College of Art and earned a BTEC ND in Graphic Design which taught me all about the design process and image manipulation. I furthered my education by attending the University of Bolton to do a course on Special effects development. This course enhanced my skills to work within the film industry and I gained valuable knowledge on Practical Effects.

I continue to work towards the goal of being part of a team in film production, by broadening my portfolio with my work as an artist. I began Allied Aliens in 2017 working from home, producing all sorts of weird and wonderful things in a workspace I made in the cellar. As projects got bigger it was apparent that a bigger workspace would be needed. Myself and my Partner Leon Williamson, who owns Bionic Cat Blacksmiths, decided to source out a workspace we could share to develop both of our business’s.
