Some snaps from a decadent hen weekend we catered at a couple of weeks ago.

The hens enjoyed a real mix of dining experiences - an elegant plated dinner in the stunning wood panelled Music Room; relaxed cheeseboards by the fire; and wood fired pizzas with sharing salads to ease them in to their lovely weekend together.

Cheers to Gemma + Eanna - celebrating their wedding at this weekend.

Cocktails were flowing - as were plenty pints of Guinness, it was an Irish wedding after all!

Thankfully Storm Dave didn’t cause too much havoc… though Ciaran was manning the fire table in a combination of torrential rain, blizzard, sun and hail… such is April weather in Scotland 🤪

Our advice to all couples in the grips of wedding planning remains the same - catering your own wedding is not for the faint of heart 😂 and you will spend the morning of your wedding setting up the bar and the first 2 days of your honeymoon washing dishes 🫠

A couple of absolutely sensational desserts served by our pastry king Jed at a wedding tasting this weekend.

You see strawberry shortcake on the menu and I don’t think you quite expect something as stunning as this fine piece. Inside there’s a dreamy basque cheesecake filling 🍓👌🏻 divine, if we do say so ourselves!

Also on offer was this elegant passion fruit + coconut pavlova: a light + lovely lime meringue filled with passion fruit curd, coconut mousse + crystallised coconut 🥥

Going to be a tough decision picking between these two showstoppers for their wedding later this year.

The results are in 🎉 and it’s a pass for everyone!

Earlier this year our senior team were lucky enough to be put through their paces by the wonderful Phillipe from and took the Level 1 Wine exam.

We are committed to levelling up our guest’s experience this year and expanding everyone’s knowledge and confidence on the drinks front is a big part of that.

We have a few of the team keen to tackle Level 2 so maybe by the end of the summer we’ll have a band of sommeliers in action..!

Today marks six years since our little sister came in to being.

Edinburgh Food Delivery launched in March 2020 by Russell & Douglas in response to all TECC work ceasing to exist in the wake of COVID. Unbelievably, this venture pandemic-proofed our business, kept us all in jobs and even allowed us to grow the team and take on 2 full time members of staff that year.

The support we received was incredible. Genuinely mind-blowing. The “launch” was a post by Claire on the facebook group explaining the pretty dire situation we were in with our event work on hold indefinitely and then pitching the food delivery concept Russell & Douglas were working on. Immediately, people were falling over each other to place orders with us and sending messages of encouragement. EGG was a real pillar of support for us in the early days - thank you wonderful women of Edinburgh!

Within just a couple of days, Douglas had worked relentlessly to build the first Edinburgh Food Delivery website, listing our first 48 products (catering sized tins of tomatoes, 5kg jars of Nutella, ginormous bags of flour and a rainbow of fruit & veg). By the end of the summer, our shop had grown enormously; we were stocking more than 500 products, had our license to sell alcohol and had expanded our delivery radius to include all EH postcodes 🤯 the support for our fledgling (and life-saving) business was truly phenomenal.

We built amazing relationships with suppliers and other local businesses through EFD. We grew to know our regular customers and delivered beef wellingtons for festive feasting all across the UK (though the stress of using couriers at Christmas meant we’ve kept it local pretty much ever since 🫣🫠).

EFD has been a little on the back burner of late (we’ve had quite a bit on our plates 🤪) but keep your eyes peeled and maybe she’ll have a glow up in her future 👀

If you ever shopped with - a massive heartfelt thank you 🙏🏻 ♥️ 💫 We might not still be here without you and that’s an unthinkable thought!

A little behind the scenes of Annelise plating up for a menu tasting earlier this year.

The dish: Butter roasted fillet of plaice; peas à la Francais, vinegar scraps tartare sauce 🐟

You’ll notice both Annelise + Louise taking photos of the dishes - we make doubly sure that the dishes you have at your tasting are exactly the same as the dishes served at your wedding.

We’ve also had a busy week on the events front too with fire tables all over the place, draught beer set ups and Russell leading a group of stags in a butchery workshop.
