🚗Yuva’s Day in Glasgow – “Get You In Town” - Events, Insights & Exciting Developments! 🌆
Yesterday, our Contracts Manager Yuva spent the day in Glasgow, exploring some of the city’s top venues and getting the latest updates on what’s ahead for this dynamic destination.
The day began with a visit to the DoubleTree by Hilton Glasgow – did you know that Glaswegian music icon Gerry Cinnamon used to work there before his rise to fame? 🎤 A fun local touch that adds to the hotel’s charm!
In the afternoon, Yuva attended the Glasgow Life Event, which brought together over 200 delegates from across various sectors to explore the city’s latest developments and future vision. Highlights from the session included:
🏙️ Foreign Direct Investment – Glasgow continues to lead the way in Scotland, attracting major global interest.
🏛️ Heritage Boost – £350,000 awarded to revitalise Sauchiehall Street and the surrounding Heritage District.
📈 Tourism on the Rise – With increasing visitor numbers, 86% of museum visitors say it was a key reason for coming to Glasgow!
📢 New Messaging – “People Make Glasgow” stays strong, now joined by a new tagline: “Get You in Town.”
🏗️ George Square – Ongoing renovations are transforming this iconic public space.
🚶 The Avenues Project – A £120 million investment is reshaping city streets into more pedestrian-friendly, European-style boulevards.
🌍 Global Recognition – Glasgow has officially been ranked among the world’s top 100 cities to visit!
And to finish the evening in true Glasgow style, Yuva attended the launch of Gael & Grain – the city’s newest Scottish pub and dining experience in the heart of the West End. Think cosy interiors, delicious cocktails, and elevated Scottish bites. 🍸🍴
✨ Great to catch up with Anne-Marie from .life — and wishing Sophie Mallon all the best with the exciting new restaurant!
