Congratulations to Lauren & Benjamin who got married last weekend ♥️

Their wedding invites incorporated a hand drawn pencil sketch of the beautiful Rosebery House on a single fold card with paper insert inside and sage green ribbon.

Erin & Devin travelled from Canada to get married this week!

I created their Scottish wedding invites for them which incorporated a coloured pencil drawing of the Castle with vellum overlay and dusky blue envelope with an envelope liner with a vintage map of Edinburgh.

The best thing about the vellum overlay design is your guests get a wee bit if art to keep as a memento of your special day 🤍

How’s your heatwave going?

I’m just working away in my warm studio with an iced coffee and floaty summer dress on…

Everyone keeps telling me not to complain as it’ll be raining next week but can I just say ‘it’s so hot!’ 😆

Congratulations to Hannah & Matt who travelled from the States to get married last week.

I created these individual menus for them with a water colour illustration of the Castle and black watch tartan ribbon.

Hello! It’s me and my red gilet (which my children tell me I look like a farmer in 😆)

I thought I’d reintroduce myself with a few random facts:

• I LOVE a cup of tea and drink ALOT of cups a day

• I briefly worked from home when my daughter was a baby but apart from that have always worked from a studio as I like being around fellow creatives

•Despite being a hoarder (I still have my 7th birthday cards from my grannies!) I don’t like clutter and am always dejunking!

•I have never used chat gpt

• Despite doing this for 23 years, I still get imposter syndrome!

• I like watching TV and am currently watching ‘Half Man’

Recently I have had requests for digital downloads of my illustrations from people who are designing their own wedding stationery.

After considering it, I have decided it is something I will not be providing and thought I would explain why.

The USP of my business is my UNIQUE , original artwork and I feel mass-produced digital files could cheapen my brand.

Secondly - copyright infringement. It is easy to make unauthorised copies, share it with others, or put through AI. Cynical as it sounds this is currently a problem for many artists and designers.

Lastly, the loss of quality control. When the customer is responsible for designing/printing the stationery themselves this could affect the way my artwork is presented and perceived.

What are your thoughts?
