What a weekend!

As 1/7th of the organising committee of the first Forth Bridges Creative Trail, From the bottoms of our hearts, we would like to send out a huge THANKS for making our first FBCT a huge success.

To all of the local community, businesses, schools, artist hosts, QHS who leant us easels for the artists, the local Scouts who delivered and picked up our tables, our volunteers who took pictures of the event, Karen at The Forth Bridges for hosting our web page, Westport Vets who kindly donated wonderful prizes for our first children’s art competition and all the school children who drew and painted a wonderful picture for us, and to the very many visitors and our participating venues, THANK YOU for all the support for our event.

And of course to the wonderful artists and makers who took the leap of faith to be part of it all - you are all legends. So much work goes on in the background in the lead up to something like this, so thank you all for your hard work and wonderful displays of your work.

We’d love your feedback about your experience of the FBCT, so please do let us know in the comments or by DM, and also if you’d like us to do it all again next year?!

Earlier this month I visited the wonderful Kate Downie RSA in her studio as part of Open Studios North Fife Public Group.

Kate is known for her love of the Forth Bridges and in 2014, was commissioned as an artist-in-residence at the Forth Road Bridge, to create an exhibition and work to commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of the bridge's construction.

I’m delighted she sent me away with two limited edition prints which are available to view and purchase this weekend from our studio as part of the Forth Bridges Creative Trail

Please do pop in, to view Kate Downie’s work, it’s stunning - we’re venue 4!
