New Website! 🌐
Exciting news! I’ve hinted at some changes in our services, and I’m thrilled to announce that all these updates are now showcased on our brand new website! This is a little snippet of what you can expect from the gorgeous visuals.

Our core branding remains, but thanks to the incredibly talented Julia Loyd, it truly reflects the style of work we are now doing. Julia, a former client, perfectly captured our vision, making the website resonate with our current style, our amazing couples, and the new direction of Scarlett & Bell.

Developments! I know I am not the only one wondering where the last 7 months have gone (at least summer has finally decided to join us), but here we are, in the last days of July. I have my annual period of back-to-back weddings starting this week, and so another excuse to avoid social media! However, there have been lots of changes at Scarlett & Bell, so I am pulling my finger out to start sharing… In the coming weeks I am excited to share details of the new direction I (Mercedes) am taking S&B in, that I have been developing for the last 9 months. We have said goodbye to services that are no longer sustainable, created new ones to reach and help more couples, and that allow us to work with other businesses in all sorts of ways. Stay tuned…

Well it’s January, which means booking season! We (suppliers) are always met by a lovely fresh flood of enquiries to kick-start the new year. And I often hear so many of the same questions. So, I’ve put together a little blog post (link in bio) to make some submissions a little easier on the newly-engaged, a guide to what suppliers are actually referring to when they ask what your wedding budget is. To double down, I’ve included some price ranges reflecting what our S&B clients typically spend in some of these areas. I know there is very contradictory figures out there, and these are not a reflection of the entire Scottish wedding industry, only the weddings you’ll see on this grid and on our website.

Merry Christmas dear friends ❤️ In celebration of my favourite time of year, I share with you some of my favourite people who have yet to appear on this grid.
They are a very special couple, who I weathered the pandemic with, became extremely good friends with, joined the wedding we planned, and are today two of the people I hold most dearly (not to speak of their gorgeous daughter and my pal, their golden retriever, Macallan). With their 2nd anniversary approaching, it’s time to share the wintery gorgeousness of that day at Barnbougle Castle. I will share the full gallery of this wedding on the blog in the next week or two ❤️

Into the Highlands and Islands with great friends. This wedding landed in my inbox last weekend and I had to wait to open it. It was one of those I wanted to take my time over, savour the scroll. I knew would deliver, she always does. I knew a wedding with her, Toby at and the team would be extraordinary. And I knew with such a talented, gorgeous, delightful couple whose energy would shine through, it couldn’t help but be a wedding gallery of dreams.
I miss this day and these people, it’s why I love my job. And dammit I will forever try to persuade Julia and Bobby to move to Scotland.

It’s a period of reflection. We’re making some changes over here, big and small. A small-ish one is adding blogs about some of our past weddings and the obvious first, was our first! This is another couple I am deeply thankful for, because without Alana and Luke I’m not sure Scarlett & Bell would exist. I still have that text from Alana telling me she and Luke would soon be engaged, so it’s time to set up S&B! We hopped to it, and the rest, as they say, is history. We’ve been back to the St. Andrews area quite a few times since, but this wedding will forever hold a special place in my heart ❤️

Giving Thanks ❤️

It’s not something we celebrate in the UK, but as so many of our couples are based Stateside, Thanksgiving is always something we are aware of. As we creep towards the end of another year, we are so deeply thankful for some of the incredible clients we’ve had this year.I am working through the galleries of some of our favourite weddings of the year, slowly editing out the images I can’t live without! It makes me long for thoughtful zoom calls, surprise snow showers, dinners on farms, and kind check-ins.

I’m excited to share these in the coming weeks, but for now here are the coolest, most stylish and incredibly kind Joanne and John 🖤🩶🤍

Cannot believe it has already been a week since Kate & Opi were married at Hopetoun House! It’s a wedding our team has been so excited for for months, and it did not disappoint. Their huge international crowd of friends and family watched their epic processional of 20 groomsmen and bridesmaids, followed by a very special ceremony preformed by the Ma’di tribal elders who gave their ancestral blessing to the bride and groom.
The celebrations followed with a unique fusion of bagpipes and African Drums (can’t wait to share that on film!), and a lavish dinner of South Sudanese food (family recipes lovingly replicated by the catering team).
We love an outfit change to kick off the evening festivities and Kate and Opi BROUGHT IT with their South Sudanese ensembles. They were led into the reception by members of the Ma’di tribe, who preformed the most amazing traditional dance to kick off the celebrations.
A truly epic day we were thrilled to be a part of! Absolutely cannot wait to share more images and video!

First comes love, then comes marriage... Our couples take all sorts of paths, but this is the classic one I, Mercedes, have found myself in! Married last October, I now reluctantly hand over the login to my email to start my life (on my due date, come on baby!) as a mother slash-all-the-things.
I won’t be gone for long, and I’ll ease back in no time at all (unless my body has other ideas). But I leave S&B in the safest of hands with my fabulous team: Jenny, Agnes and Mae. They’ve got this.

I have secret hopes my daughter will follow in my footsteps and one day take over this fabulous business, so really this is an investment in our future 😉 No pressure.
