This amazing 🤩 lady Dr Hannah Guzinska - Parenting and Psychology is local mum and also a Clinical Psychologist and she has written a book for parents in the early years! ❤️

It’s called Coping with Early Parenting: The Magic and Mess of the First Few Years.

It’s a blend of Hannah’s own experience in the first years of being a parent, and the things she found helpful from being a clinical psychologist (which she says gave her lots of ideas but didn’t actually change the fact that parenting is hard!)

She has basically written the book she wished she had had!

We are delighted to be co-hosting Hannah’s book launch with her so please save the date:

You’re welcome to bring your wee one. Hannah will be talking about the book but it will be really informal and babies and toddlers are welcome to come and just be babies and toddlers! We will have toys 🧸 and activities for your little ones and snacks 🍎 🍪 for all too 😍

❤️Look 👀 at this amazing head control! 🙌

👶🏽 Week 5 of our baby massage course teaches you how to massage your baby’s back and it’s my favourite week I think!

😍 Firstly, I love seeing parent’s learning lots of different ways to “do” tummy time with their babies!

👶🏽 Tummy time doesn’t always involve plonking your baby on the floor, arms flailing with them feeling all at sea! 🌊 Some babies love lying on the floor seeing the world 🌍 while others like being close to their parents, across their laps or even lying on their chests! This all counts as “tummy time” and we show you how to do this while also massaging your baby’s backs, giving them lots of gentle loving touch, relaxation, oxytocin boosts! 😍 and of course a chance to strengthen their wee bodies.

❤️ Secondly, I absolutely love seeing all of your baby’s faces!!! By week 5 of the course your baby’s have really started to enjoy massage and it’s a joy 🤩 to watch them relaxing and smiling 😊

I love all of our massage weeks but week 5 is always special 🌟

Our next 5 week blocks of classes start week beginning Monday 1 June in the following venues and we’d love you to join us 😊

😍 One of the benefits of learning how to massage your baby 👶🏽 is that it gives you the opportunity to bond with your baby through the power of touch ❤️

Massage produces the love 🥰 hormone oxytocin and did you know that one of the beautiful parts about that is that is it’s not only the person receiving the massage who produces it but the person giving it too? This equates to lovely, powerful 1-1 time with your baby where you are both feeling the love, connection and experiencing quality time together with lots of eye contact and smiles 😊

Many of our interactions with our babies can be functional and massage offers a chance for quality, bonding time 🥰

💝 It’s a real gift that many years later I can be experiencing this beautiful connection time with my own babies with them helping me teach you massage strokes too!

✨ Some of you know that I initially learned massage to help my own daughter Hannah to sleep deeper and for longer, help her to relax, have better tummy movements and for us to experience precious bonding time together.

When Hannah was a baby 👶🏽 she had many invasive medical procedures and massage was our time to connect and heal in a loving 🥰 way that would help her physically too.

🎶 It’s very special that here she is, years later, helping me teach it to you!

☀️ The sun is out (for now 🙈🙏😅) and Susan and I had a lovely walk this morning with my new baby puppy 🐶 Honey and we were chatting about FATOWL 😊

People ask us why we decided to take a break from running the classes and the truth is, we both just had to. For different reasons but all family/personal related. Being a mum/business owner is hard and we both needed to step back from the business side for a bit and follow our own paths. However, when we were walking and talking today we definitely agreed, we both still love ❤️ FATOWL! 🙌🫶 We also agreed we are not ready to give it up completely!

And, along with our lovely teacher Caro, I’ll be running some classes in our next block, which starts next week!! And Susan will keep helping in the background 😊

Susan and I didn’t go bust, fall out or anything else as dramatic 😆 we simply concentrated on our families and will continue to keep FATOWL small and manageable so we can provide everyone with the best 🙏🙌

👶🏽 Calling all babies! FATOWL BABIES classes are starting BACK after the Easter 🐣 holidays 🙌

🥰 We will restart our baby classes on Monday 20th April then have more classes on Wednesday 22nd April and also classes on Thursday 23rd April & Rosebery Halls South Queensferry 😍

We took a little break 😊 Our lovely teacher Caro continued running baby classes and the plan was for me to take an extended period off, but the truth is, I miss you and your babies 👶🏽

Running baby classes and creating a community for new parents brings me more joy 🤩 than I can ever explain. It is such an incredible honour to facilitate these classes for you. I am delighted I’ll be starting back teaching a baby massage class on a Thursday morning at the Rosebery Halls in South Queensferry from 11am - 12pm from Thursday 23rd April. 😍

A break was needed for both Susan and I but baby classes are our thing and I can’t wait to do my thing with you again very soon!! 😀

Caro is our FATOWL baby whisperer & sleep expert and in addition to her weekly baby classes she will soon be starting some newborn sleep 😴 workshops for us too. Watch this space!
