There’s more happening behind the scenes at Saltire than the events you see on your feed... 🌱

Sustainability has long been an important part of how we operate, from the ingredients we source and the suppliers we work with, to how we manage food waste, energy, transport, packaging and recycling across our business.

Our approach is about continually looking at where we can do better — reviewing our impact, challenging the way we work and finding practical improvements that can make a genuine difference. 🌍

That includes sourcing seasonal and fresh ingredients as locally as possible, carefully monitoring food waste, reducing unnecessary single-use plastics, considering energy efficiency and working with our suppliers to make more informed and responsible choices.

And now, we’re taking another step forward.

We’ve recently welcomed a Sustainability Project Lead to the Saltire team, helping us take a closer look at what we’re already doing, where we can improve and what the next chapter of our sustainability journey could look like. 💚

Over the next couple of weeks, we’ll be catching up with them, introducing you properly and taking you behind the scenes of some of the work already happening across Saltire.

We’re incredibly proud to be returning to the Forth 1 - Forth Awards 2026 this October, once again playing our part in one of Edinburgh’s biggest celebrations of the people, businesses and organisations that make our city so special.

This year, our team will be behind the scenes delivering the catering for the awards, while we’re also delighted to be supporting the Best Restaurant Award — celebrating some of the brilliant people and places at the heart of Edinburgh’s food and hospitality scene. 🍽️🏆

Last year brought an incredible atmosphere, plenty of celebrations and a room full of people doing brilliant things across the city. We can’t wait to do it all again.

✨ August, you were quite something... Another month has flown by, which means it’s time to look back at everything that’s been happening across Saltire Hospitality. And August certainly kept us busy!

We helped welcome 1,000 guests back to the newly reopened King’s Theatre with Capital Theatres 🎭, delivered more than 25 catering events across the Edinburgh International Festival, and brought bespoke private hospitality to The Hub in the heart of the city. ✨

Further afield, our teams were back in the thick of the action at the Scone Palace International Horse Trials 🐎 and the British Touring Car Championship at Knockhill Racing Circuit 🏁, while Eden in the City kept festival-goers fuelled throughout August at the West End Fair. ☕️

We also hosted a fantastic Of Salt & Sail evening at Ochiltree's Cafe, Abbotsford ⚓️, celebrated Eden Coffee House being named Borders Favourite Business for Roxburghshire 🏆, returned to the King’s Theatre for a very special dinner on stage, and continued looking ahead to an exciting new chapter with Lindores Abbey Distillery. 🥃

And somehow, September is already here, with another packed calendar of race days, awards, events, open days and plenty more to come! 👀

The Scone Palace International Horse Trials return this week, bringing four days of world-class competition to the spectacular grounds of Scone Palace and Perth Racecourse... 🏇

From dressage and cross-country to showjumping and everything happening around the event, it’s set to be another fantastic weekend welcoming riders, teams and spectators from across Scotland, the UK and beyond.

Behind the scenes, our team will be right at the heart of the action, delivering hospitality throughout the event and helping keep guests fuelled across a busy four days. 🍽️

It’s another brilliant example of the variety and scale of events our teams are proud to be part of across Scotland, and we can’t wait to get started.

🎭 A dinner setting quite unlike any other... Last Monday evening, we returned to the newly reopened King’s Theatre for a very special private celebration, transforming the stage itself into an intimate dining space for the evening.

One beautifully dressed table stretching across one of Edinburgh's most iconic stages, set for an intimate gathering of around 40 family and friends celebrating an incredible 60th wedding anniversary. 🥂

From the crisp white linen and carefully laid place settings to the floral arrangements running through the centre of the table, it was wonderful watching such a unique space transform ahead of the guests' arrival.

There's something pretty special about seeing a theatre usually designed for performances take on an entirely different character for one evening.

A beautiful setting, an incredible milestone and another memorable evening at the King's Theatre. 💛
