Convo.project is introducing a new collection of digitally downloadable tools designed to spark meaningful connections. The first release is a printable card deck featuring 24 thought-provoking prompts on the theme of friendship. As adults, busy schedules and competing responsibilities can make it easy for friendships to slip into the background - but they’re one of the greatest sources of joy and wellbeing, at every age and especially as we grow older. If you'd like to spend some time reflecting on your friendships or you're working with a group where this conversation might be useful, you can download our cards here https://www.theconversationproject.uk/shop We'd love to hear your feedback!

How would you feel about being paired with a couple of strangers to share your thoughts on some of the questions in the image below? That’s exactly what Convo.project is all about – bringing people together and creating a little space for some big conversations to happen.

It can feel a bit vulnerable and maybe even a little scary at first, but more often than not, it’s fun, energising, and can really take you out of your comfort zone. I’m hosting 90-minute sessions every Saturday in August at 2pm on Calton Hill (weather permitting). Edinburgh residents can come along for free – it’s our very own unofficial Fringe event!

We had a fantastic group for our first session last Saturday, and with the sun shining and the festival vibes, it felt like we were in some stylish European city. We had a great mix of ages and perspectives, and some of the conversations even carried on over coffee in the sun afterwards. Take a look at some of the beautiful feedback in the images below!

If you'd like to be part of one of our upcoming sessions, check out the Eventbrite page for details and to grab your ticket. We'd love to have you join us.https://https://lnkd.in/ezdyXzDf

And if you have guests - we'd love some visitors to join the locals. You never know who you might meet!!

We’ve been a bit quiet over here at Convo.project but we’re back – just in time for the Edinburgh Festival. Throughout August we’re hosting a series of Fringe, fringe events – going back to the roots of what “fringe” should be – unofficial, unconventional and experimental. You won’t find us in any brochures and tickets for Edinburgh residents are FREE!

Join us for this exciting opportunity to explore human connection through conversation. Get ready to mix movement, nature, and unexpected encounters at this unique social experience that brings together the vibrant and diverse community of Edinburgh Fringe visitors and locals.

It’s the perfect way to escape the crowds, make new friends, and enjoy memorable interactions - all while taking in some amazing 360 degree views of the city from Calton Hill! Our first event is on Saturday afternoon, but we’ll be releasing more dates as the month unfolds.

Further information and booking via this link https://lnkd.in/eJtWwdfK or the QR code on the poster (in the images). **Booking is essential so that we know people are coming as we'll only run the event if we have a minimum number of participants** https://lnkd.in/eJtWwdfK

Share with your friends, neighbours, visitors, performers you know – everyone is welcome! Hope to see some of you there!!!

Romantic relationships get all the attention but we'd argue that friendships are just as important - if not more so. Friends provide a powerful buffer against life's ups and downs, offering a safe space to share both our joys and struggles. Yes research shows that as we age, making and maintaining friendships becomes increasingly difficult for some people. With this in mind, we invite you to reflect on the following questions about friendship. Let us know what conversations unfold!

2024 was an exciting year for Convo.project We continued exploring the adaptability of our conversation cards in different settings, from wellbeing workshops to public events and organisational team-building days.

This year, we also took a step back to reflect on our core mission. What do we actually want to achieve? We realised our passion lies in creating social experiences that bring people together - across diverse age groups and backgrounds - to have meaningful conversations that matter. The challenges of loneliness and social isolation, which have worsened since the COVID-19 pandemic, are issues we’re determined to address. By creating opportunities for people to meet, share stories, and feel heard is where our impact lies.

Looking ahead, we've got some exciting events planned for 2025 and as a little end-of-year gift, we’re sharing 20 Questions for Ending and Beginning. This mini list of questions is perfect for reflection and connection during the transition to the new year. We’re confident that these cards will spark some exciting conversations and reflections and we'd love to hear your feedback. Happy New Year and hopefully see you at some of our events in 2025!

We ended the year on a high note last week by delivering our first organisational wellbeing session to the staff at Edinburgh Futures Institute. Looking ahead to 2025, we’re excited to bring even more events to life. It’s clear that people value opportunities to come together and that they thrive on open, honest conversations – and we can’t wait to facilitate more of these moments! If you work with an organisation or community that's interested in collaborating with us - get in touch!

As Convo.project evolves we've recently had some interest from a couple of organisations that employ hybrid and remote workers. Some of these teams only get together once in a while, meaning that they don't actually get to know each other as people. For me, good mental wellbeing at work is impacted by the quality of my relationships and we all know how isolating it can feel if you don't have anyone at work who you view as a friend. We've just secured our first (very exciting) client and we'll share more about this once we've successfully delivered our session with them in December. In the meantime if this is something your organisation might be interested in, get in touch
