We are absolutely over the moon to share that last night, Cardney Steading was named Best Outdoor Wedding Venue at the Confetti Awards for the second year in a row 🤍✨

This award means so much to us, and it simply wouldn’t be possible without the incredible couples who choose to celebrate their love here, and the wonderful suppliers who help bring each wedding to life. Especially to our good friend, Kevin Meenan Films for allowing us to use some clips from his stunning wedding films in our video submission 📹 and to Photo and Video Scotland for shooting and editing the final videos.

Before weddings, I worked in police surveillance.

Different worlds — same instincts.

You can be taught frameworks.
Rules.
Techniques.

But instinct?

That comes from reading a room, anticipating what’s about to unfold, and knowing when to disappear into the background.

That’s what I bring to wedding filmmaking.

Not chasing moments —
feeling them before they happen.
Looking past the big, staged highlights
and into the quiet, unguarded seconds that actually tell the story.

No big production.

No rigs, gimbals or monitors.

Just me, my camera, and the ability to blend in.

Honestly, the way I see a wedding day is less like a performance and more like a real story unfolding right in front of me. Most people notice the big, obvious moments - and obviously they’re beautiful - but I’m always drawn to the quieter things happening in between. The glances. The laughter. The little expressions that say everything without a single word. This is what elevates your film to the complete story. 🕊️

My approach is really instinctive. I am not there to direct your day - I just observe and let people be exactly who they are. That’s what makes each film feel pure and real, rather than staged or polished into something it never needed to be.

In the end, it becomes more than just a record of what happened. It turns into something honest that you can come back to years from now…. and still feel every single time.
