A very productive day spent 🤩 ⤵️

• Harvesting lots of seed with my sister 🌱
• Sowing fresh seed
• Taking plant cuttings
• Potting on 100 or so cuttings taken in June that now have a good root system Generally feeling positive about what all of the above will bring for next year….

Drawing enormously on those wonderful positive actions and thoughts whilst loving the cooler temps and with rain falling all around (whilst dry and toasty in the Polytunnel I must add. I’m not daft!)

Because this summer has been TOUGH TOUGH TOUGH. Maybe 100hr weeks have been spent? Trying to keep everything alive (impossible). And whilst I will ALWAYS of course fulfil wedding bookings and pre-orders, I haven’t been able to go out to a wider wholesale offering as I’d planned to do this year, as there’s simply not been enough in flower.

So whilst I count down to the end of the season and a time to have an enormous tidy up of the field and nurture of the land in readiness for next year (gulp. El Niño…), I’m sharing some of the utter gorgeousness that has gone out recently. The first shot is of a gift bouquet that went out today. I’m in LOVE with the colours, and a couple of the dahlias featured are new this year, and literally the first I’ve cut today. (Don’t even mentioned the new dahlia field planted this year… I’ll save that for another day 🤦🌸)

Hello world. It’s been a minute. But here’s some lovely flower shots from the past few weeks. I regularly forget to photograph flower orders now. They’re all very personal and remain a snapshot in my brain though!

The final CUTTING GARDEN MASTERCLASS courses of 2026 are being held in 4 week’s time and there are just a few places left on each date at the moment, so please nab your spot. This is a great time of year to do the course and come away full of knowledge and inspiration; you’ll have all winter to ponder your ideas and make a delicious plan for next year, without the pressure of time. One of my absolute favourite things to do in winter when I’m missing the actual ‘doing’ and hands in the earth and being at one with nature, is the planning; it’s the next best thing and feels so rewarding, intentional and happy-making.

I’m too tired for any more words or to make a reel out of the videos taken from all the glorious flowers booked last week.

I still bloody love flowers despite the relentlessness of farming in continued extreme heat and continued lack of rain.

A little update from secret little corner of North Norfolk 🌸

They’re off! 3 hours of watering. But thankfully Dahlias are ok with little water. Which is lucky since we’ve had NO rain for months.

They’re a bit of a way off from harvesting yet but I don’t think it’ll be too long now. I deffo need to somehow find half a day or so in my schedule to pinch them all and feed them!

I’ll ponder that amongst the rest of the forthcoming week’s schedule over a nice cuppa and whilst I recover from yet another thoroughly brilliant Edgefest last night, organised by my thoroughly brilliant husband 🤩

What a mad week! Mainly because of the heat and the dry weather meaning very early starts and very late finishes … if you didn’t know, flower harvesting and watering can only happen at these times. It gets a bit exhausting! But just LOOK…

This week was such a great week of different orders that really showcase how diverse British flowers are - and all during .flowers.week !

From wholesale orders, to gift bouquets for delivery, to flower buckets for anniversary parties and for bright festival-vibe weddings.

And to top it all off, lots of lovely people voted me as best Norfolk florist in the Muddy Stilettos Muddy Stilettos | Norfolk 2026 awards. I felt a bit embarrassed about that at the time of announcement, but as I wandered around the field of flowers that I’ve grown, selecting my choice of an interesting mix of varieties, cutting them at the correct stage for longevity in the vase, prepping and hydrating them, putting them together into a hand-tied bouquet, then gently wrapping them and taking them to their recipient, I actually felt quite proud. This isn’t just a bouquet I’ve put together, but it’s one I’ve grown from seed.

But British flowers really speak for themselves. The more varieties in the mix, the better IMO, for a really naturalist, wild and super pretty vibe.

WINNER! 🤩🙌

I am very grateful and honoured to those of you who took the time to vote for me as Best Florist in Norfolk in the Muddy Stilettos 2026 Awards.

As it happens, there are some far more deserving, incredibly talented florists whom I highly admire in this region. However, this is a great accolade with which to showcase British-grown flowers.

First and foremost, I am a flower grower. This is 100% my passion. And it’s a privilege that I have my own beautiful end product that I get to share with others, and to make beautiful creations with.

It is also very timely that this is British Flowers Week!

A time to celebrate the beautiful and diverse flowers in this country.

I am a proud member of Flowers From the Farm - an association of British flowers growers. We all work our absolute butts off whilst at the behest of many challenges and things out of our control (weather, climate, pests, disease…) and so I wholeheartedly dedicate this award to all my wonderfully brilliant British flower farmer comrades. We are ALL winners at championing the British flower industry.

Muddy Stilettos

May is an exhausting month as a flower grower, to say the least. It has taken too much effort to create this post even! But it must be done! The best marketing platform after all.

May is when it’s really kicking off with a British flower farmer’s season. Seed sowing, pricking out and planting out by the thousands. Weeds going mental. The utter madness of the weather and trying to keep everything alive, which generally means a lot of late night and early mornings.

On top of which it’s prime wedding season. I appreciate why, and that’s why I too was a May bride (albeit so busy that I now forget my own anniversary!!)

The whole flower growing season is pretty bonkers actually. But it seems a little less mad once the bulk of the annual plant babies are in the ground, and the masse of pricking out slows to a more manageable pace.

Oh, but then it’ll be July to Sept. I nearly forgot about the new Dahlia bit 😂 That’ll keep me ‘amused’ for a bit!

But just LOOK at all those beautiful British, seasonal flowers!! So diverse, so interesting, so whimsy, natural and romantic. We are absolutely spoilt for choice with amazing blooms for several months of the year.

Norfolk-grown Peonies now available direct from Norfolk Flower Farm!

The masse of weddings are sorted so now it’s time to indulge you in some local Peony bunches!

I’m still busy with orders hence random opening times but hopefully next week and until the end of Peony season (3 more weeks maybe??) I shall be open a bit more consistently/daily.

There are beautiful bunches of pink and white peonies at the moment and there should be some of the cerise next week.

You can always request a bunch to be prepared for you and arrange a time that suits, or request specific numbers of stems, by messaging.
