Back where it started! Looking through old photos from where my passion for cottage garden flowers started.
In my cottage garden of course! One that had a blank canvas and I’m so thankful for that. It meant buying some colourful plants (no idea what they were. At the time I DEFINITELY wouldn’t have had any idea what they were!)
Adding those first few colourful plants literally changed my life. It ignited a new passion and I found my vocation.
The first handful of years I spent constantly enlarging borders to fit the weekly haul of new plants. Then adding new borders to fit more.
Then I started making arrangements having snipped mixes of flowers from around the garden.
And from there I flew!
So happy to have found my purpose albeit around the age of 40.
10 years on, I turn 50 this year and whilst running your own business is unbelievably full on and can be pretty stressful at times, I’m so happy to be moving around and muddy at the flower farm every day, and not sitting at a desk, which I did for 30 years!
Happy Sunday folks. The gardens are starting to spring and so is the flower field!
Only a couple of weeks till I supply the first wedding of the year with beautiful, Norfolk-grown blooms.
Only 3 weeks till the first Cutting Garden Masterclass goes live. This is an intensive one-day course teaching all about flowers for cutting… which varieties specifically are good for cutting, colours, shapes, textures, seed sowing, annuals and perennials, and most importantly of all - the correct stage at which to cur your flowers for longest vase life,
And only a week or so till the tulips really start going, so watch this space!!
