Today was much cooler, making it perfect for running around. We started with the Ice Cream Game, where we had to keep our “ice cream” balanced on the cone while guarding it and trying to knock other players’ ice creams off.
Next, we played a target game with a rugby ball placed in the middle. Using the techniques we’ve practised over the last three weeks, we aimed our footballs at the target. To make it more challenging, we had to run around the outside, return to our ball, and be the first to knock the rugby ball off.
After that, we moved into a game of football. We began with a giant football, which was trickier to control, before switching back to a standard ball for a match that put all the skills we’ve learned over the past three weeks into action.
Coach Paul continued with futsal skills and rules. Manikins were placed in goal as obstacles, and the children had to score past them. A match followed, where the concept and technique of curling the ball were introduced in gameplay.
That’s all for the summer! We’ll be running more Multisport, Football, and Futsal sessions in October. Enjoy the rest of the summer holidays!
