Something southern comes this way…But it isn’t simply the sounds of Nashville, Alabama and Maryland that make Parker Barrow as musically badass as the outlaws they were named after.

We’ve always tried to support our own. Not ever based on tokenism, but on hard work, momentum and talent.

We’re sure you know what Welsh acts have appeared with us over the years and what they’ve gone on to achieve. We’re proud to have played a small part in their stories.

And here we are gearing up for SHXV and we’re over the moon to introduce the next pair of dragons climbing the mountain for their debut appearances.

The mighty King Kraken open the entire weekend on STEELHOUSE Friday. Getting things underway on Saturday, it’s fast rising alt-rock outfit, Black Lakes.

So, all you Welsh brothers and sisters please get in early and support your own…If you’re from further afield, come join the buzz and be amazed at how Wales can continually produce quality 21st century rock acts…Sort of like how we produced Outside Halfs in the 70s!!

Having The Temperance Movement return to the Steelhouse Mountain this year is like a much-missed long lost friend knock on your door and offer up a warm embrace.

Their a ca****la re-introduction to the stage last year raised the hair on the back of the neck and brought a tear to the eye.

To have them close out the opening day of SHXV will be a truly emotional, magical SH milestone.

It is, an absolute belter…Supreme song craft and musicianship which underpins a voice that delves deep into the soul…It’s truly exceptional instrument.

It’s a huge day for Dan Byrne.

Today his debut album, ‘This Is Where the Show Begins’ is released.

We’re massively proud to be associated with him. His song craft, that voice, his performance standards and his work ethic are all attributes that - all things being equal - should earn him a great many plaudits. And it all comes with genuine humility and exceptional grace.

If you like amazing singers, you like new rock music created via classic DNA, please go out and support Dan this week.

Then, when he takes to that STEELHOUSE stage on July 25th, you’ll know you were part of the journey.

So here we are screaming loud about Kris Barras’ Hollow Souls

This is Kris - along with his regular wingman, Josiah J. Manning and vocalist, Phoebe Jane - really scratching that itch to play the sort of music he first smashed down the doors with. It’s unapologetic in its rootsy-ness, pure in its gospel-tinged exuberance and built on the foundations of Kris’ first love, the blues.

They’re gonna have a ball on the opening day of SHXV and they duly invite you to join in. Resistance is useless.
