DRUM ROLL PLEASE šŸ„

Youā€™ve all been throwing in the most wonderful name suggestions for our new machine and after whittling it down to our top four, youā€™ve given her a nameā€¦

She will now be known asā€¦CAFFERINE šŸ«˜ā˜•ļø

What the person that put this name suggestion in didnā€™t know is that Catherine was my beautiful Mumā€™s middle name.
I lost my incredible Mum unexpectedly almost 2 years ago.
She played a huge part in my vision right from a little girl and inspired me in so many ways that helped to create what Biagioā€™s is today, but she never did get to be a part of our relocation, growth or share my excitement for our new coffee machine and despite not drinking it, she absolutely loved the smell of freshly brewed coffee.
So thank you for helping us name her and for choosing a name with meaning that I will fondly use daily as I create each coffee.

NOWā€¦we loved ALL of the top four names, so all four of you have got a FREE coffee on us. Cafferine and I canā€™t wait to create the drink of your choice.

Starting off with 3 pretty takeout afternoon tea boxes heading out for a weekend celebration and swiftly followed by a jam packed coffee shop ALLLLLL day long and a sell out Saturday to end the week.

AND WEā€™RE BACKā€¦

I was meant to remind you all that we were open and raring to go this morning after being closed on Saturdayā€¦and then the queue got bigger and before I knew it I was right in the thick of it crafting beautiful coffees on my beautiful machine and I didnā€™t get round to itā€¦

Soā€¦here it is, better late than never.

We celebrated Tonyā€™s 40th with a garden party on Saturday, in the rainā€¦because there ainā€™t no party quite like the one where youā€™re dancing in the rain and sliding in the mud now is there šŸ¤£
The garden looked like Glastonbury yesterday but the birthday boy had an absolute blast.
Thank you all for all of his birthday wishes, cards and gifts, I know he feels spoilt, loved and extremely achy after busting some serious moves šŸ•ŗ šŸ¤£

So we were back to it today with a full shop and a sell out on cakesā€¦despite the rain. So thank youuuuu for being the bestest and for always keeping us so busy, weā€™re so grateful.

DONā€™T MIND ME ā˜•ļø

As you know, our coffee machine got an upgrade today as we welcomed our new retro piece of equipment to the Biagioā€™s family.

I was like a kid at Christmas this morning, but if Iā€™m honest, a little nervous too.
My old machine and I understood each other. Iā€™ve lovingly made coffees on that wonderful machine for almost 4 years, but Iā€™ve always dreamed of a traditional lever machine, so when the opportunity arose, I jumped at the chance.
But upon install this morning, I found myself getting nervous, feeling disloyal to my old machine, apprehensive about whether it would live up to expectations and ultimately, make for an EVEN BETTER coffee experience for you guys.

Before we opened, I poured my first espressoā€¦delicious!
Then anotherā€¦deliciousā€¦
Then another, just to be sureā€¦absolutely deeeeelicious!

Beautiful velvety crema, testament to our wonderful quality locally roasted Biagioā€™s coffee beans, but definitely made from the power of a machine that gives me the control over the pre-infusion and pressure curve of my shot.
Something other machines just donā€™t offer.

What I didnā€™t expect was a queue before weā€™d turned the sign to ā€˜openā€™ and jam packed coffee shop allllll day long, with no time to ease myself or my new machine into our new relationship.
So we were definitely put through our paces and it was the best way to trail run the first day with well over one hundred espresso shots being pulledā€¦each one as perfect as the next (apart from the one that ended up on the floor and all over me during my ā€˜Iā€™m adaptingā€™ period šŸ«£)
Honestly, best espresso pull day of my life, so donā€™t mind me just polishing my new baby as we get ready to do it all again tomorrow.

See you tomorrow for an extra velvety, extra lovingly made and extra delicious Biagioā€™s coffeeā€¦
Weā€™re open 10.30am - 3pm Thursday & Friday and then closed on Saturday this week.
