Please see the following statement, regarding the reopening of the Epkv Hall
As you are aware the Village hall was closed due to an incident involving a hirer and over 25 individuals who attended with one intention, which was to disrupt the meeting. The consequences of this resulted in the hall being closed. The Trustees had to put the Charity into 'Crisis mode'. As the committee was not re-elected, we have had to seek the appropriate guidance to ensure that our responsibilities as charity trustees were met.
Having now received this guidance from the Charity Commission, the Trustees are satisfied that the hall can safely reopen and normal activities will resume from tomorrow (Friday 7th August).
The Trustees remain committed to managing the charity in accordance with their legal duties and in the best interests of the Village Hall and its users. We thank our regular hirers and the local community for their patience and understanding during this period.
There will be further updates regarding assembling the new committee going forwards for 2026/2027.
