Happy half term everyone! It's got me thinking it won't be long until all the Christmas fayres. If your school/pre-school/other local organisation will be having a raffle for Christmas please message me, tag the PTA, tell me who I need to contact.

I've got a whole bunch of vouchers for free party kit hire ready to send out to you lovely lot. There's absolutely no point the party kits just sitting storage. In order to save as much party waste as possible they need to be used all the time. So I am more than happy to give away a ton of free hires.

Remember although I'm based in Halstead I'm the closest party kit for a lot of villages and towns - Earls Colne, Stisted, Coggeshall, Sible Hedingham, Castle Hedingham, Pebmarsh, Great Maplestead, Braintree, Great Yeldham...

Parties without the packaging. Love an eco birthday in all senses. Second hand bike and bargain second hand stables left unwrapped. Few smaller presents in fabric present bags that we use every year for everyone's birthday. "Best birthday ever" apparently. I promise you they do not need to be ripping paper of gifts to have a good time.

Party kit in action last weekend at Coggeshall Community Swimming Pool
If you're having a party away from home it's easy enough to throw the dirty plates etc back in the party kit box, and then pop them straight in the dishwasher once home. No need for disposables.

400 party kits across the UK! So happy to be part of the Party Kit Network

East Anglia is letting the side down a little though, although Essex is looking a lot better than it did when I started up a few years ago.

Still can't believe there isn't anyone in Chelmsford though!

We have passed another milestone… we now have 400 party kits listed across the UK and islands. 🥳

Looks remarkably similar to Wednesday but still here at Little Legs Festival today until 3pm. There's a petting farm, train ride, massive bouncy castle, all sorts going on today. Plenty of space to spread out too so it's not crowded ☺️

Having a great time at Legs Festival today - here Thursday and Friday too. Got free water and squash to keep the kids cool, and a few eco craft activities.

I made this for Boris.

Generally I try not to bring politics into our posts as our ethos is about positive action and parties are meant to be fun.

When the first lockdown happened we packed away our party kits. Many of those who run party kits went to work as they are key workers. Many didn’t have adequate PPE. Many isolated from their families. Many made sacrifices to keep others safe.

We didn’t support gatherings which were not held within the rules. So no, Boris wouldn’t have been able to hire a party kit in May 2020.

It's day 3 of Just A Card 's Indie Week

Today is about shows, events, fairs etc. Not a lot going on for the party kit right now. But we're hoping to be at some fair with Indie Kate in the summer. Fingers crossed Little Legs Festival will be back in 2022 and we can join you there too.

In the meantime just drop me a message if you want to book. Collection is from Halstead but I can often deliver to Coggeshall and Braintree without using extra fuel and I'm there regularly anyway.

Catching up on Just A Card 's Indie Week

Today's prompt is to share a photo of what Just A Card means to you.

Well, at Halstead Eco Party Kit Hire it's not just Just A Card but "Just A Cup"

Here's a lovely image for you from one of the other members of the Party Kit Network showing a huge box full of REUSABLE cups.

Imagine they were all single use, disposable cups, taking up all that space in landfill, for hundreds of years. Every time your child has a birthday party, 30+ cups in the bin.

Just A Card / Just A Cup does make a difference, to small businesses and to the environment.

1. Halstead Eco Party Kit Hire launched in the summer of 2019 and is part of the amazing Party Kit Network
2. As well as hiring out the party kits I have started collecting used helium balloons for reuse (or recycling via terracycle) - message me for the address to drop them off ♻️
3. My favourite party food has got to be cheese and pineapple - does anyone actually do these for parties anymore?
4. I used to be a primary school teacher
5. I am a little too enthusiastic about partyware, so we have quite a selection here now available to hire - brights, pastels, rainbows, christmas.
6. Salt and vinegar crisps are life
7. I’m a qualified forest school leader and love the outdoors
8. I’m into all things Eco and apparently a bit of a geek for random recycling knowledge 🤪
9. Although I live in Halstead I have family in Earls Colne and Braintree as well as the kids swimming lessons in Coggeshall - so I can often deliver the party kit without using additional fuel 😄

24th September is the the MacMillan World’s Biggest Coffee Day.

If anyone is holding a coffee morning to raise funds for Macmillan I would be more than happy to loan any of my party kits for you to use (free of charge of course).

I haven't got mugs or teacups but tons of plates suitable for cake! Cups and jugs for cold drinks. Trays and serving platters.

Happy for you to pop bits back in the box dirty and I will wash up. Just want to save lots of paper plates and plastic cups!
