Please note, due to a private event taking place in the Botanic Garden on Wednesday 18 June, we will have the following operational changes on the following dates:

Gardens – Closed
Café – Open using inside seating space only

Tuesday 17 June:

Gardens - Open
Café – Open

Wednesday 18 June:

Gardens – Closed
Café – Closed.

Thursday 19 June:

Gardens – Closed
Café – Open using inside seating space only

Today was the end of the HEAT Conference 2025 in the Teaching and Learning Centre!

Delegates will go to Grey College this evening for a servery dinner and refreshments in the Greyhound!

That's a wrap for Easter vacation conferences. We are now looking forward to the summer!

This is evening we have the launch of the new Durham Centre for the Anthropology of Health on the top floor of the Teaching and Learning Centre.

The launch coincides with the two-day HEAT conference on planetary health and the environment.

Drinks and canapés are available for attendees to enjoy!

Lots of preparation yesterday afternoon and early this morning for the Event Management team for the Health, Environment, and AnThropology (HEAT) 2025.

Co-organised by Durham and Edinburgh universities and sponsored by the Royal Anthropological Society (RAI), HEAT1 is a two-day international conference on planetary health and the environment. The conference will be hosted by Durham’s Department of Anthropology.

Registration is starting from 8am this morning!
