People who know me & get what I’m trying to do in the venue know that I’m not a negative person & always try to keep upbeat even through difficult times when gigs dont sell many tickets or sadly get cancelled. These things happen & although frustrating, we have to move on..
Sometimes however I simply don’t understand why events don’t interest people & tickets don’t sell..
This 70s DISCO night is one of them
The night was also to celebrate our wonderful Margaret’s 70th birthday but without people committing to coming along, it would have been bit a very poor party..
We had sold 2 advance tickets with a week to go 😞
At just 70p a ticket I had hoped this might have enticed a few along to enjoy a great night out with friends…
Sadly for whatever reason it hasn’t interested people & I’ve sadly taken the decision to cancel…
I even had an amazing special guest too whom I’ve stood down…
As I have regularly posted, advance tickets sales is of utmost importance & without these venues cannot plan, prepare or even know if an event can actually go ahead.
The financial importance of a good Saturday night gig is imperative to the survival of The White Room Music Cafe & of course all similar venues so to cancel a show which I’d hoped was going to be a busy night, is very disappointing..
There’s another amazing show next Friday which needs support too, a wonderful 90s night with an incredible band, so please, if anyone fancies this, please buy a ticket in advance so we know that the gig can go ahead..
