A Country Love Story: Rebekah & Daniel's Rustic Romance
As featured in Northern Weddings Magazine, Winter Edition 2025
When dietitian Rebekah Calvert from the windswept shores of Cloughey, Co. Down, met farmer Daniel Maxwell from the rolling green fields of Augher, Co. Tyrone, no one could have guessed that a casual pizza night with friends would be the start of a life-changing love story.
The pair first crossed paths in a small local pub following a catch-up dinner between Rebekah and her girlfriends. Daniel happened to walk in that evening, and sparks flew almost instantly. “We got chatting, exchanged numbers, and met again for dinner in Moira—it was halfway between our homes,” says Rebekah. “And the rest, as they say, is history.”
Three years later, Daniel proposed in the most heartfelt way—completely surprising Rebekah during a beach walk in Cloughey, the very place they had gone to visit her mum. “We were just walking along the sand like we always did, and suddenly he got down on one knee with a ring box,” she recalls. “I had no idea he’d been secretly ring shopping with his sister!” The ring? A timeless triple round-cluster diamond piece he picked himself from Bogues in Omagh. “He did very well,” Rebekah adds with a smile.

From Facebook to Forever: A Stylish Celebration at Galgorm
When Angeleine McKenna sent a spontaneous friend request on Facebook to a man she didn’t know—but felt she might just like—she had no idea it would lead to a love story worthy of a fairytale. A Manor House Romance: Melanie & Ryan’s Elegant Black and White Wedding
For Enniskillen natives Melanie Fawcett and Ryan Clarke, love didn’t arrive in a whirlwind — it unfolded slowly, naturally, and beautifully. Though they’d known each other for years growing up in the same town, their paths didn’t cross romantically until fate gave them a gentle nudge in January 2020. A Love Story in Full Bloom: Emily & Peter’s Unforgettable Wedding
Some love stories begin with a grand gesture, but for Emily Watson and Peter Hutchinson, it all started with a simple message. After meeting at a conference, Emily took the first step and reached out to Peter. While visiting Emily’s family in Sweden, the couple attended a church camp. One evening, they ventured into the woods for a quiet walk. For this bridal look I envisioned elegance, with a hint of glam. For brides, I want them to look like the best version of themself, but still feel glamorous with makeup that lasts twelve hours plus. For the beautiful Shannon less was more, I started by prepping her skin with a favourite of mine, the 'Garnier Aloe' toner, this allows any residue of fake tan or dead skin that’s left on the skin to come away so that the moisturiser can work into the skin. Next, I added 'Estée Lauder' advanced night repair serum, this is very light weight, adds a hydrating glow, and settles into the skin perfectly. For moisturiser I don’t like to overload the skin, especially when doing a photoshoot, there I opted for the Loreal Hydra Gel, which is super lightweight, refreshing on the skin and has a lovely lasting smell for the bride to enjoy. I always start with eyes, and for Shannon, she had beautiful blue eyes, so I wanted those to pop, so adding bronze and copper browns to her eyes along with a little hint of sparkle just really allows her eyes to be the feature of the entire makeup. So the eyes aren’t overpowered I tend to use a half lash, this also allows the eyes to appear more open.
