Gilford Castle Estate is a private Victorian Scottish Baronial house set within mature woodland and ornamental gardens on the River Bann in Couty Down. Choose your setting
The flexibility of the estate means you can design a ceremony that reflects your vision. Choose to exchange your vows in one of our intimate and elegant spaces in the castle or the grounds. Our gardens host ceremonies of up to 150 guests. Our three courtyards each cater to different types of weddings, including small groups of up to 30 people, intimate gatherings of up to 80 people, and congregations of up to 120 people. You may opt to host your guests within the castle's period rooms, which host up to 70 people.

The flow of the day
After your ceremony, the celebration unfolds naturally across the castle's reception rooms and gardens. In a world where bridal beauty once leaned heavily toward sleek blow-dries and polished perfection, Kim Alexandra is quietly and confidently rewriting the script.
As Northern Ireland’s only curl-focused bridal hairstylist, the founder of Kim Alexandra Hair has built her reputation on one powerful belief: you do not need to change your texture to be bridal. Full stop.
Her journey began long before wedding mornings and veils. Kim grew up in her mother’s salon, working there from the age of twelve. Hair was never a career decision; it was simply life. But the direction her career would eventually take wasn’t always obvious.
After losing her mum in 2016, everything shifted. Grief has a way of clarifying what matters. For Kim, it reframed beauty, confidence and time itself. She realised she didn’t just want to “do hair” she wanted to help women feel powerful in their own skin.
In 2018, she began wearing her own hair naturally and immersed herself in the online curly world. What she found was overwhelming: rigid rules, misinformation and a subtle undercurrent suggesting curls needed to be corrected or controlled. In bridal spaces especially, she noticed a pattern. Curly-haired brides were often having their hair blown out straight… only to have curls added back in with a wand.
“I kept thinking, why are we still doing this?” she reflects.
That question became her turning point.

Hailing from Dungannon and Magherafelt, their paths first crossed thanks to a little behind-the-scenes matchmaking from two very important people in their lives their Maid of Honour and Best Man. While their friends were certain the pair were meant to be, love took its time. Despite the encouragement, it would be another two years before Keilie and Kyle finally found their way to each other and when they did, it was worth every second of the wait.
From that moment on, their relationship blossomed into something grounded, genuine, and full of quiet certainty. Over nearly five years together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and most importantly, family sharing their journey with their kids at the heart of it all.
