My Background

I am a Primary Teacher to trade and have 17 years experience working with children, their families and other agencies. I was seconded ten years ago to work across the city to promote health and this involved presenting at meetings and conferences, to small and large groups of adults. I have a passion for working with people and one of my key strengths as a teacher has been my abilit

y to reach out to those around me and support them in whatever way I can. Becoming a Civil Celebrant has been one of the most inspiring parts of my life to date. To work with families to celebrate the lives of those they love most is truly a privilege and honour. Embrace Funerals

The aim of my ceremonies is to provide a personal, individual ceremony which truly reflects the life of the person who has died. This may or may not have a spiritual/religious element depending on the wishes of the family. The focus of the ceremony is very clearly on the life of the deceased. I will spend time with the family discussing the person, getting to know them through their loved ones memories before crafting a service which is unique for them. The family will be as included in the service as much or little as they wish to be. I truly believe that a funeral prepared with a loving tribute for the deceased, carefully balanced with music and poetry can begin the healing process for the people left behind. I am the family’s voice and will speak from my heart on behalf of them at this difficult and emotional time. Embrace Baby Blessings and Naming Ceremonies

I offer a personal, engaging and loving ceremony to welcome your baby into your family. This will reflect the life of your family and take into account any beliefs you may have. The birth of a baby is the most special part of life and Embrace aims to make your day memorable by crafting a ceremony with words, poetry and music which will make your day extra special.

❤️The most beautiful, kind, caring boy who had his whole life ahead of him and a lovely family who will forever love and miss him. Please like, follow and support the move for change in Ronan’s memory - he should still be here; still be making memories; he should have received the help he desperately needed and asked for over and over again 💔x

A Dad and Son. A bond so deep.
Go cart racing, x box playing.
Inside jokes. Oasis songs on repeat.
United match days - let’s go together.
Precious memories for forever.
Chelsea pride.
Ronaldo and Messi debates that never ended.
Chess playing.
Ronan was always the winner.
Disarrano and coke.
Let’s play pool.
Dance your heart out to Man in the Mirror.
Caravan holidays, Blackpool tower.
A dog called Batman…
Let’s compromise - Robin sounds better.
Steal your razor. Get your own!
Whatever’s yours is also my own. 😆
Work at the open.
Biffa together.
Free pizzas, hard work.
A team together.
Love never ends.
It only grows.
It’s in the air,
Or wherever we go.
Love is not words.
It’s memories and actions.
It’s not what we say,
It’s what we do that matters. ❤️❤️

❤️ Long post alert - end of week reflections.

I love speaking to people about my job - I see so many folk I know at services and it’s great to catch up with friends I was at school with; colleagues and pupils from my teaching years and families I’ve worked with.

Being a Celebrant is such a privilege and one I never lose sight of - to be trusted to become a part of a family in their saddest and happiest times is an honour which should never be taken for granted.

We juggle the joy of Weddings, welcoming babies and the heartbreak of saying goodbye - often all in one week.

This week started for me with the service of a lady who had celebrated her hundredth birthday, lived a full and happy life. This week ended with the service for a beautiful, vibrant twelve year old girl whose life had just begun.

Both have left a legacy to be proud of - one in four generations of a family…… the other a girl who in donating her organs has given the gift of life to four other children.

There is an extra beautifully bright star in the sky tonight, right up there next to the moon and a lovely family who I will hold in my heart always ❤️

❤️ Monday afternoon and I’m doing a bit of everything - writing a funeral for a lovely lady; answering Wedding inquiries and making calls to families to arrange meetings for a blether ….with a bit of kitten cuddling thrown in.

Remember it’s not too late to be a 2026 Bride or Groom - some Weddings are years in the planning some are months ….. I still have some availability for this year, 2027 and booking into 2028. Feel free to phone, message, email 😘

Very grateful thanks to the lovely Martin and Gemma for letting me share some of the gorgeous pics taken by the very talented Abbie McKee ❤️

❤️Morning everyone, hope you’ve all had a good weekend, been busy here as always with preparation for this weeks services and a lovely naming day yesterday.

This was a bit different and very emotional, Joshua is thirteen and it is very important to his dad that he had Guardians appointed to care and support him through life’s journey. His mum wrote some lovely words to be read and all four of his sisters spoke and told Joshua how loved he was, how proud they were of him and that they would always be there.

Cody and Jim, lifelong best friends were honored to be appointed as Guardians - not a dry eye.

Joshua liked the idea of a sand ceremony in Dundee F.C colours and so that’s what we did.

As always get in touch for a blether, I’m never far away ❤️

❤️Happy Friday everyone from the mad house ❤️

❤️ I had such a lovely afternoon yesterday conducting Louise and Tom’s Wedding Ceremony at the Woodland Hotel. The loveliest couple and family - I taught Louise’s son Kieran many years ago and just loved seeing him and his pals again - they are great lads but made me feel old!!

We had such a relaxed service full of laughter - Louise and Tom chose to have a handfasting and drinking from quaich to seal their marriage - with rather a large measure poured by Tom’s son Ryan!!! This may or may not have contributed to our lovely bride falling on the dance floor, breaking her wrist and ending up in A and E this morning 🙈

Huge congratulations to the lovely Mr and Mrs Aitken ❤️
