The Sunnysiders deliver lively jazz rooted in the bop tradition — melodic, rhythmic and full of feel. Five musicians, one swinging sound: sax, guitar, piano, bass and drums, playing with heart, humour and groove.
Allan McGlone (alto sax) – expressive tone and lyrical lines, returning to the horn after years in recording and production.
John Whyte (guitar) – warm, characterful playing influenced by jazz greats with a touch of blues grit.
Iain Mathieson (piano) - brings more than 60 years of experience across styles, happiest when shaping harmony and texture in a jazz setting.
Richard Bowden (double bass) - anchors the sound with warmth, drive and a deep feel for swing.
Martin Dibbs (drums) - completes the band with vintage drum tone, subtle dynamics and a rhythmic pulse forged through a lifetime in jazz and years teaching percussion across Angus, Dundee and Fife.
Together, they play jazz that’s engaging, expressive and full of joy.
