We've lost count of the amount of times we've been asked when the next SCuba gig will be. So, we've managed to round (almost) all of them up for a jazz session this Sunday evening! 🎷

Don't miss out. We don't know when we'll get them again! Send this to someone who would love to see the Cuban Jazz Quintet.

Hi, I'm Luke, founder of Uminari Ramen. I've been obsessed with Japanese ramen for over a decade, and after 15 years in HR tech, I finally did something about it.

Most ramen you'll find in Scotland is tonkotsu - rich, heavy, salty, and built to floor you. Uminari is different. I make Tokyo - and Sapporo-style ramen: cleaner broths with precise, balanced flavours that actually let you taste what's in the bowl.

Our classic Tokyo is the bowl that personifies this: a balanced chicken and dashi double soup with a shoyu tare that packs a punch. It's finished with leek and spring onion oil, chashu pork belly (sous-vide then torched on the pass to order), daikon, pickled red onion, spring onion, and half a soft-boiled egg soaked in a secret recipe for a minimum of 24 hours.

Proper Japanese ramen. On the streets of Scotland.

The response to us programming some live music on Saturday afternoons has been great so far. Keeping it rolling this weekend with the ever wonderful Connor Liam Byrne. 🎸

πŸ—“οΈ WHEN: Saturday 13th June
⏰ TIME: 2pm Start
πŸ“Œ WHERE: CANVAS, 16 Ure Street, Dundee
🎟️ TICKETS: Free Entry

When not fronting his big, minging, rock and roll band, Connor Liam Byrne spends his time pouring pints, watching Gilmore Girls, and playing acoustic covers of Bob Dylan songs. If you squished those three activities together like a mundane, folky playdough, you’d get exactly the sort of thing Connor will be playing during his set at Canvas.

Kathryn Joseph said about him:
β€œThe noise he makes is perfect and sexy as f**k. You need it. He is kind. He drinks wine with old ladies and makes them feel young again.”
