We have taken some time before posting this to allow Scott’s family the space to share their own words and begin to process such a heartbreaking loss.
Scott “The Butcher” Renwick was a valued part of the Scottish Wrestling Entertainment family and the wider Scottish wrestling scene.
A graduate of Source Wrestling School in Glasgow, Scott carried himself with professionalism, respect, and heart every single time he stepped through the curtain.
Whether it was his first show or his hundredth, Scott greeted everyone the same way, with genuine warmth, kindness, and friendship. He had time for everyone, always willing to speak, to support, and to make people feel welcome.
He was a constant, a reliable presence, and someone who truly embodied what this business should be about.
Scott was a proud SWE European Trophy Winner in 2015, and in 2022, he was rightfully inducted into the SWE Hall of Fame at Hell for Lycra XIX in the Caird Hall, Dundee, presented by his close, long-time friend Jam O’Malley.
That evening was a celebration of the man he was, not just in the ring, but outside of it. Even on that night, Scott gave his time, stepping in as Special Referee, showing his continued passion and dedication.
He was known for his humour, his quick wit, his one-liners, and his ability to lift a room. But more than that, he was known for being a genuinely good man. No ego, no politics, just love for wrestling and respect for everyone involved.
Scott was loved by all who had the privilege of knowing him, and his loss is deeply felt across our entire community.
SWE wish to express our heartfelt love, thoughts, and condolences to all of Scott’s family, especially to Shona and his girls.
Rest easy, Scott. You will always be part of the SWE family, and you will never be forgotten.
