💜 This week at Totstars, we explored emotions through a very special story. 💜

Today we were honoured to be joined by one of our Totstars mums, who kindly shared a beautiful book with us about a little girl born with a rare birthmark called a CMN (Congenital Melanocytic Naevus).

As we read together, we talked about feelings, confidence, kindness and celebrating what makes each of us unique. The children listened so beautifully and reminded us all that differences should be embraced, not hidden.

Thank you for trusting us with such a special story. It was a privilege to share it with our Totstars families✨

🤗 EMOTIONS 🤗

Our theme this week has been all about how we feel, and while this can be tricky for little ones to understand, we created a class that would make EVERYONE feel happy and calm.

Lots of sensory lights, texture, our new expanding balls and tunes to match the activities.

The last of our African Adventure from Fridays ‘wobbly walkers’ class.

There was a lot of love for our Giraffe and the snake!! We practised moving around the space, taking one foot off the floor at a time with our grown ups helping us to balance and of course we had plenty props and great songs to enjoy 🙌🏻

💜EMOTIONS💜

Our theme this week is emotions, we are talking about how we feel 🫶🏻

We keep this very literal for the wee ones, using sounds to explore feelings of happiness, excitement and calm. For the older kids, we practise facial expressions-

Feeling silly 🤪
Feeling happy 😊
Feeling confused 🫤

And we even use an expanding ball to control our breathing 😮‍💨
