I had a lovely time at the Fingask Castle wedding fair yesterday, chatting to some lovely couples who were keen for autumn vibes and moody, deep colours. I'm not often asked to work in the full gothic colour scheme but I was reminded of these lovely tiny wedding in St Andrews last year! Carly and Nate opted for deep sexy reds and I LOVED it. Would you go dark for your wedding flowers?

The wedding of Dominique & Euan at @ last summer - the one with 110 bud vases completely filling the centre of the tables with floral detail, and one of the happiest evenings I've witnessed as a wedding supplier. The bridesmaid tribe was strong! And from the moment I stepped in all I could here was giggles, exclamations of love, joy and excitement as I set up the florals ready for the next day. It was a pleasure to meet too, and I really love his creative photography of the tables in the early evening light. Just a complete joy all round in this magnificent venue.

My beautiful cousin Jen married her beloved Jamie on Easter weekend last year, at the very lovely City Chambers in Edinburgh. I was honoured to create her florals - all shades of spring whites and fresh, light greens. The weather couldn't have been any better - one of those perfect spring days with warmth that hints of summer to come and everyone in the highest of spirits. Plus a rare occasion that I was a guest as well as floral artiste extraordinaire, and what a treat it was to spend the day surrounded by my blooms (not in my studio) :) Thank you Jen and Jamie!

God it's dreich isn't it. My brain feels like the weather - all waterlogged and foggy. I can't get going at all. I've got loads of amazing photos to share with you from 2025 but they're just sat tight on my computer. I thought it might be good for my first set of posts of 2026 to be a wee hello from me though! So here we are. This is me, Helen - the everything behind The Greenshed Flower Studio. I'm a one woman band creating floral masterpieces from my wee studio in the east of Scotland. I have another job - I run a government funded access programme for art and design, which is not-quite-being-an-art-teacher...more of a mentor, I guess! I help teenagers aspiring to study creative subjects at university - which often finds me in odd places holding things together while the glue sets. Much like floristry, really! And when I'm not doing flowers or inspiring the youths, I'm mummy to our wee pickle with my beloved Fraser the Farmer. If you're new here - it's nice to meet you! If you've been here a while - it's lovely to see you again. Let's goooo 2026!

God it's dreich isn't it. My brain feels like the weather - all waterlogged and foggy. I can't get going at all. Deep foresty greens and the softest pinks will always be a wonderful colour combo, especially complimented with little pops of brighter colours. I loved the bottle green long ribbon too!
