A little bit of Zululand is coming to Dunbar! 🇿🇦

When an opportunity to bring something special to Dunbar pops up, we grab it with both hands! And this is one you won’t want to miss.

On Tuesday 27 October, we’re welcoming the acclaimed South African duo Qadasi & Maqhinga to The Harbour Chapel for an evening of extraordinary music, bringing the sounds and spirit of South Africa right to our doorstep.

And there’s more! We’re delighted to have ClanCape Events joining us to serve up some delicious South African treats before the gig. 🇿🇦🍴

THE PERFECT MATCH ❤️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

When Jane & Kevin from Kent first got in touch, I had a feeling they were going to be fun!

They were dreaming of a Scottish elopement by the sea, and with character by the bucketload, The Harbour Chapel felt like a perfect match.

But finding the right venue was just the beginning. After a quick chat, I knew exactly who I wanted alongside them on their wedding day.

Their celebrant needed a great sense of humour and, ideally, a kilt or two… or three! Enter Paul -Scottish-Celebrants 🥃🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

And for their photographs? Someone who could match their gorgeous energy, of course. That meant calling in Dione at , a fellow Kentonian with a love of all things Scottish. 📸

Bring us all together, and the result was a little bit of magic.

From the moment Jane & Kevin arrived, their smiles never left their faces. They left with huge grins, wonderful memories and grateful hearts, and we were absolutely delighted to have played a part in it all.

Because here's the thing. Your wedding doesn't have to be big to be brilliant, and you don't need a huge guest list to deserve a team that's 100% in your corner.

Let's just have a moment of Anne & Neil 🩷

After their original church wedding ceremony plans fell through, Anne & Neil got in touch and made the choice to move their ceremony over to The Harbour Chapel. It was a choice that they didn't regret! Both the couple and their families fell in love with The Harbour Chapel, "The Harbour Chapel and all of you made it so special and I will be forever grateful".

Following the beautiful wedding ceremony in The Chapel guests wandered into the harbour for photographs, before returning to our Reception bar for drinks and nibbles. They later departed for their onward wedding reception in a nearby golf club.

We were so pleased to step in for them, and luckily the date they needed was available. If you think 9 months of less is not enough time to plan a beautiful wedding, think again! Many of our couples are booking closer and closer to their dream date!

Whether we wanted an intimate ceremony or, as we ultimately chose, our entire wedding for 70 guests at the Harbour Chapel, Victoria worked with us to create a day that felt personal to us. Some evenings are just made for a dram. 🥃

On Friday 13th November, we’re inviting you for an evening of wh**ky, stories and good company as we explore the Rare Find Wh**ky collection.

Six whiskies. A few you probably won’t have come across before. And the chance to try some exclusive new releases along the way.

You don’t need to know your single malts from your blends either. Come curious, come thirsty, or just come along for a really good night out.

The bar opens from 6pm, the tasting begins at 7pm, and afterwards there’s no need to rush home. The bar stays open, so you can linger, compare notes, debate your favourite dram and generally make an evening of it.

£30 per person, including the tasting and booking fee.

One of those evenings that feels like a little bit of an adventure without having to go very far.

Wow what a weekend we all had! Huge thank you to the organisers and volunteers at we appreciate the HUGE amount of effort that goes into organising this event and it’s great to see so many visitors come out to support it. We were busy but we managed to capture some very grainy footage from the back of the audience. Our thanks also go out to all our performers over the weekend 🙌
