When you lock the bikes but lose the key...

This morning has been a lengthy problem solving mission for these two guests on our campsite, which ended with having to angle grind through the chain.

Now that the bikes are free they can spend the rest of the day discussing who's fault it was (despite there being a clear answer to that question!) We had some good laughs with these guys. Their positive attitude turned what could be a major stress into a jolly morning.

All in a morning's work when you run a forest campsite!

Sometimes when cleaning yurts in this heat, the need for a cold bucket shower just gets too much! 🤣☀️

We're on the hunt for air con ideas that use low power to fit in with our off grid site. Any suggestions?

I'm sure a lot of you will agree with us in saying that this has been a somewhat uncomfortable heatwave 🥵

But what a show we got last night! So grateful to be awake to see this. Rumbling thunder and dramatic lightning for over an hour.

Did you see it? It was wild!

Happy solstice, everyone ☀️💚

Unfortunately we have to strim these banks by the roundhouse as it can cause a fire risk but let's all take a moment to appreciate the glorious wildflowers. We've left it longer in between cuts this season so hopefully the bumble bees that we have living on site have been enjoying the extra flowers.

Getting the site ready for one of our biggest bookings since handing over from Mike & Pam. Eek! 😁

We've had a lovely returning couple staying in Oak yurt with their young daughter and dog. It's good to see that they clearly managed to tap in to the magic of the forest.
