Just because I don’t post much on this account doesn’t mean we aren’t in the prep kitchen working away like busy bees 😂

This week has been beyond stressful 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️

But despite it all we show up every morning and work our way through everything that’s thrown at us 🖤 and the amazing team in Roo’s kitchen help us massively too 🥰

We are just back from delivering this lovely lot to the Loch Lomond rugby club 🏉🏉

An extremely busy morning today getting these lovely looking boxes ready 😍😍😍

We had 4 events to cater for today! 4 completely different buffets! All made in house from scratch! 🙌🏻🙌🏻👩🏼‍🍳👩🏼‍🍳

The next couple of months is looking very very very busy for event catering so I can’t stress enough about getting in touch to see if we have availability for your chosen date!

We are stepping away for the next 48 hours!

Unfortunately on the 20th of April my Granny sadly passed away. I was lucky that I was able to be with her and the rest of my family during the time ❤️

We have come up to Inverness tonight to spend some quality time with my family and lay my Granny to rest on Wednesday 🫶

We will be back to work on Thursday with a fully booked bistro night on Thursday night in Roo’s Kitchen

We are also fully booked for event catering this weekend so cannot take on anymore bookings! Sorry to those who we have had to turn away!

There will be a delay in responding to messages and emails over the next couple of days as well as no bookings for boxes being able to be taken!

Roo’s Kitchen will be open as usual from 9am tomorrow with our amazing team holding down the fort ❤️

We had a crazy busy day today! Lots of afternoon tea boxes & not 1.. not 2… but 3 buffets getting catered for! Did I get any pictures 😂 nope!

At Taste of Home - Catering by Roo all our buffets and boxes are homemade from scratch!

No opening a packet here and putting it in a box here!

Even all our fillings are homemade! Using roast chicken, fresh local eggs etc etc!

We pride ourselves on it! 👩🏼‍🍳👩🏼‍🍳

So yes we may charge slightly more than other local companies but I would say we are worth it 🤪 and so would our customers!

This year exciting things are happening!

We are working with local businesses to bring you the full package at our dinner parties!

Think great food, excellent service, bespoke celebration cakes, stunning flowers, live music… all in the comfort of your own home, rental accommodation, air b and b, lodge and wherever else you choose!

3 course meals starting from £49.95 per person! This includes my preparation time & cooking time on the night!

Making it affordable to have these top class services for your special events!

If any local businesses, air b and b hosts, lodge owners or someone else who feels like their guests would benefit knowing about us when they come to stay then please get in touch and I can drop in some flyers!

Is there any lodge owners, self catering accommodation, air b and b owners on here?

I am looking for someone to let us come and in cook some food and bring a photographer to get some content to help promote private dinner parties!

I emailed a couple of places we have cooked in before a couple of months ago but never heard back anything 😫

I realise it’s coming in to the height of the season and a lot of places will be booked all week long but we would only need a couple of hours

And would leave like we were never there! Just like we do at all private dinner parties we cater for ☺️

Our last hospitality day this season at Dumbarton Football Club is done! ⚽️⚽️

Never in a million years did I think I would get an opportunity like this! However we have just completed our first ever season of catering the hospitality with us already signed up for next year! 👩🏼‍🍳👩🏼‍🍳

When we started the season, numbers started at 17 people. Today we ended with 111 people! With each weekend averaging 80-90 people! I would say that’s an achievement in itself 🙌🏻

We have had incredible feedback from start to finish which is amazing given we have fed 100’s of mouths over this time!

Thank you to both Stephanie & the football club for giving us this opportunity!

Big thanks to my wife Amy for sticking by me and helping me each Saturday we have been there

Big thanks to Jayne who comes in on her day off and gives us a hand with the dishes!

And an even bigger thanks to Sharon who has covered me in the shop on the Saturday whilst I work on bringing more money into the business to continue building it even more!

And for all our staff in the coffee shop for holding down the fort whilst me and Amy are doing things like this!

Im away for a lie down and to try and kick this cold I have had for the last few days which ended up with me barely having a voice today 😂 that was fun 😂

It might of been a hot minute since I posted but it’s not for the lack of trying 😂

We have been so incredibly busy lately between the refurb on our kitchen in the coffee shop, buffets, dinner parties, working everyday in the coffee shop and a million other things as well as some personal stuff

But check this buffet we done on Sunday for 120 people!

Going forward we won’t be taking on as many buffets etc

ATM I’m just being pulled in a million different directions and it’s a struggle keeping up with it all

This weekend will be our last football hospitality of the season until we start the next season in August

I also can’t urge enough about getting your bookings in for private dinner parties! We have had to say no to quite a few people the last couple of weeks because we are fully booked!

Our diary is open for all of 2026 so no excuses!

Now that the news is finally out…

I’m delighted to announce that we will be catering another season of hospitality at Dumbarton Football Club! ⚽️⚽️

This season wasn’t without its challenges and teething problems, However we went in, giving it our all and cooked the food we do and everyone has absolutely loved it! With many returning customers!

Next season will be bigger and better! We will be bringing in some brand new menus! And with already a season of experience behind us at the football club there will be no stopping us! 🙌🏻🙌🏻

The final hospitality day of the season is fully booked so make sure for next season you get booked in plenty of time!

We are looking forward to continuing working along side the Football Club ⚽️⚽️
